Ok sorry guys but Gamboa is the real deal. Hes a star.

And lets be fair, he got hit with an elbow.

Hes not going to be beating Linares, Lopez anytime soon but he can definitely fight. The problem with Gamboa is he has an amatuer style. But I noticed alot more focus to the body and not a large reliance on head shots. Hes definitely improving.

You are smarter than that. You could see as well as I could that Gamboa was not hurt, much less out on his feet.
"Out on his feet" was just an exaggeration. That left hook stunned him in a way and dictated what happened for the following five or six seconds that resulted in the knockdown.

Gamboa again showed his weaknesses, but the man's gifted athletically and comes with straight agression. Im still wondering how he will do against the top flight guys. He seemed to try to keep his hands up, but after he was dropped by that elbow he seemed to say **** it and got back to his old style and well it worked. Is he the next big thing in boxing, that jury is still out, but he's got talent and is exciting to watch.

and im probably being alittle hard on him for the elbow bull****...that "elbow" (which was moree like the part above the elbow) wasnt that hard of a hit...the punch that followed was waaay harder-cleaner...

The problem is that everyone is always looking for that. There is no "next big thing."

Gamboa is fine for what he is: a defected Cuban who got to the pro game too late; an exciting guy who hangs his chin out and can't take what he gives.

LOL, great observation. People do seem hyper-critical just so they can be the ones who called it first.

Saying that though, I do think Gamboa is going to get sparked at some point. I think Max's (or maybe it was Lampley's) gun shootout analogy was on the money.

Mosley never had the head movement Gamboa does, and he never had the foot work or lateral movement that Gamboa does.

It's a tradition here and a game we play. It doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the fights. When the fight is on you watch the fight. When it's over you log onto boxingscene and make up some bull****.

I disagree, had no effect on him at all, it just looked like he did because he was stepping him and his foot was off the ground.
