Couldn't agree with you more man!!!the fight looked and felt like a non-televised bout on a Telefutura card. So much hype around "el Perro", but his work inside the ring, at least on this night, doesnt warrant it... If i hadn't put money on the underdog, I could've slept through this fight and wouldn't have missed anything (and probably would have slept... zzzzzz)Comment

Vanes isn't yet a stunningly brilliant, but at this stage of his career he is more advanced and better skilled than any of the other JMW prospects. Also, remember that Vanes is in a transition period of changing two trainers at a very important time in his career. Freddie teaches one style and now Ronnie is teaching a different style, once he gets everything Vanes is going to be a Monster in the JMW division... As far as Angulo is concerned he can get away with no boxing skill now, but not much longer...Man, Vanes isn't exactly what you'd call a stunningly brilliant, technical boxer. He is just average. He isn't Spinks for example. Anyway, I don't think any of the JMW prospects are that good to be honest. They're either defenseless brawlers, which is exciting or decently talented boxers.
The fights I've seen of Vanes he hasn't really shown anything particularly special. He's not really fast, powerful, skilled, great defense, etc ... He's good, but not great.Comment
