Roy didn't say that they ducked him. He said that they turned down offers, which is something different.

If you turn down an offer you are essentially "ducking" them as you don't want to fight them! How else can you duck them?

So if you are offered two fights, by two different people, you are ducking whoever you turn down?

If you're injured, and cannot fight, are you ducking?

If you are offered an amount that doesn't meet your value, are you ducking?

There are loads of possibilities for why someone might turn down a fight. I have no idea what went on between Roy and Benn or anyone else, but based upon what is on that tape, it is OTT to claim that it was ducking.

If we are talking about when Roy was at 168, I think it is fair to say that Benn, Eubank, Collins and McLellan were all studiously ignored, not merely by Roy but by America in general. If you watch Roy's fights from that time it is a common theme amongst the commentators that 'there is no-one at 168 for Roy to fight'.

          What?

I cant find the article mate. But read my first post. Thats the jist of what Benn said. His quote was along the lines of:

"Roy didnt wanna come have a tear up with me when i was Super Middleweight Champion. He took a safe fight with Hopkins at Middleweight instead."

After the McClellan fight though, he admitted that he would probably lose to Jones cos he didnt have the fire anymore.

If you have no fight scheduled and another fighter who is in at least top ten in your division makes an offer to fight you and you reject it, I think thats someone ducking the other! You can negotiate for more money if thats what you think you're worth but to downright reject it thats ducking!

I never said Roy ducked Benn or Benn ducked Roy because I don't know the facts which is why I created the thread.

But in Roy's words Collins and Benn wanted to fight him but when he made offers they suddenly were not interested in the fight. This is his opinion and I'm looking for someone to dispute it with evidence. I just want to try and find out what really happened.

Yeh exactly. Especially when you've got Ricky Frazier lined up!

Theres an article where it states Jones was offered the Benn fight but chose to go down to middleweight and fight Hopkins. I'll try to find it, not that it will change your mind.

Cos whatever Roy says is irrefutable.
The bias and the lies are hilarious. Just admit your bias and move on man. Stop lying about being a fan of any American fighter, let alone Roy Jones. Jr.

And who said Floyd was my idol? Again, projecting your small ****ed insecure jealousy of Americans, yet again.
