Seeing as how those who argue otherwise can't refute this right here, I'd say this post is a threadcloser.Comment

Reality: There is not one. Move along with the brit nutthuggery. Rjj will go down more recognized than any European fighter, ever. He was that amazing. Nothing you say can ever change that.
I bet that just kills you.Comment

But his level of competition sometimes left a lot to be desired.
Theres an article where it states Jones was offered the Benn fight but chose to go down to middleweight and fight Hopkins. I'll try to find it, not that it will change your mind.
Cos whatever Roy says is irrefutable.Comment

I def do not believe everything any single boxer says, but if there are no facts or even public record of something dis*****g what Jones has said, then I tend to believe this. Benn was a decent fighter, but nothing that Jones could not handle even being a youngster. If one ducked the other, I would say Benn would have ducked a powerhouse like Jones. Remember: Roy had 20 KO's in 21 fights when he fought B-hop. That is equal to a young fast and very dangerous bomber who no vet wanted to touch without really getting paid well. Roy's claim is very believable.

So if Roy doesnt dispute that, it makes it true? Pleeeeease.
I hate hypotheticals. I prefer to deal in facts. I would pick prime Roy Jones over Benn, Eubank, Collins, Watson, McClellan, Dariusz M, Ottke, , probably even Calzaghe.
That doesnt change the fact that he didnt fight a single one of them. And it cant be because they all ducked him
And Roy was a powerhouse? Do you even know who Nigel Benn was? A decent fighter? He was a ****ing beast. I think Jones would probably outbox him and stop him late but Benn would give him nightmares along the way. Jones didnt fight many big punchers - certainly none in Benn's league.
Benn had just blazed through America KOing guys that were supposed to beat him. He was probably the most dangerous fighter in the world. So his claim that Jones backed off a fight with him are also very believable.Comment

I love threads like this because everyone gets all personal about it defending their preferred fighter. I've still yet to see an interview or article from someone showing Nigel Benn stating that Roy ducked him, we've seen Roy sayin Collins and Benn ducked him!Comment
