Thanks very much. I'm glad somebody acually understands my Jones-Hopkins points. There was no way to determine when B-hop hit his prime, but we do know that when he fought Jones, he had more fights and was a little older. To me that means that Jones was the green one of the two in terms of PRO fights. Jones should get mad props considering that B-hop was way more agressive at that time and did'nt lose for like ten years after that boxing lesson. Crazy to me how some guys on here just choose to overlook these obvious circumstances.

The circumstances you overlook are that Jones had been to the Olympics - won a gold medal (essentially) - and was far more groomed than Hopkins. Bernard learned his trade in prison.

The ONLY REASON Jones is taking the fight with Calzaghe now is that he is past his prime and has something to gain. Calzaghe has done Roy a favour by giving him a fight. Jones had it all to lose by taking difficult fights in his prime. Now, he can fight Calzaghe and lose yet still come out with credibility for whatever effort he puts up because everyone thinks hes shot anyway

The ONLY REASON Joe is taking the fight with Roy now is that he is past his prime and has something to gain. Roy has done Joe a favor by giving him a fight that will prop up his lame "legacy". Joe had it all to lose by taking difficult fights in his prime but he never did. Now, he can fight Roy and win or lose yet still come out with credibility for whatever effort he puts up because everyone thinks Roy is a legend anyway.
