Not wreckless, relentless pressure with pop to it.
Hopkins won't let Pavlik get in range to use his jab which Pavlik uses to set up his combos. I will like to see how Pavlik adjusts to this early. I feel Pavliks best weapon in this fight is his pressure.... Keep bernard moving and tire him out giving himself more oppurtunities to throw and land shots.

What Pavlik is basically saying is that he will not allow himself to fall into the B-Hop trap. He is going in to fight his fight and try his hardest to not allow Bernard to set the pace like Bernard did early against Joe.
        Everyone falls into Hopkins traps.

All he has to do is get through them and fight on.

I think this is the first chance Hopkins has against getting stopped in a very long time. Pavlik is a strong puncher with very straight punches and he punches in bunches. He is fearless(a huge asset) and a big man. His work rate is awesome especially for a 2 handed puncher.

Hopkins as much as he has seen hasn't seen a fighter like Pavlik. I can't think of one fighter he has faced that punched 100 punches per round especially with power. Pavlik does have one punch KO power, but he chooses to just break down his opponents with more punches with less "hay maker" in them. Midway through the fight though he always sits on his power and starts to punch with real authority. Taylor-Pavlik 1 is a perfect example. I have always thought that Pavlik got stronger as the fight went on.

Hopkins is as crafty as anyone in the sport today. A sneaky counter puncher with amazing defensive ability. Hopkins does go into a defensive shell and throw punches one at a time. Both will not stop Pavlik. Hopkins does a lot of trickery, but how do you slow down a volume puncher? A strong jab, but Hopkins isn't active enough to use this. Pavlik also has the stronger jab and would beat Hopkins in a jab contest. Pavlik also goes to the body a lot that could spell trouble for a 43 year old(though he is known more for his straight right to the head). Pavlik throws every punch in the book, hooks, upper cuts, straights, and body punches.

I say Pavlik wins by late KO or lopsided UD.

Hilarious! I loved that. Do you want to go up to 10K on the Jones-Zaghe fight? I've got extra scratch since nobody will bet me on the Peter-Klitschko fight next weekend.

I WILL BET ALL MY POINTS, HOPKINS WILL NOT BE KO'ed. just no way possible....

Typical post from a new and inexperienced member. If you understood boxing, you would know that anyone can be stopped. It all depends on the turn of events. Pavlik has a better chance to stop B-hop than "anyone" thus far , at this "time". He will not take the output and power punches for 12 rounds, and if he does I will be seriously suprised. Sorry to burst your bubble.......................

Freddy Roach who is willing to throw Pac in with Oscar begged Hopkins to retire instead of fight Pavlik. He said he saw some things in the Calzaghe fight and is worried for his health against Pavlik. Pavlik may stop him.

I dont even think Hopkins will find a way to last. Against Calzaghe he looked like he was having a hard time late in the fight until he caught his wind with the break from a low blow.

Calzaghe doesnt have near the power that Pavlik does, and he fought a dumb fight too. Kelly will be a lot smarter in there imo by keeping his distance and pumping his long jab. Remember Calzaghe helped Hops out a lot by squaring himself up to get in more punches.

pavlik ko in 9 or 10

ok in my opinion hopkins has 2 options be defensive or trade thats it, either way he loses, i have read alot of people on here saying pavlik is slow, he is not slow guys, his punches comes fast and very accurett with both hands, so like i said if hopkins goes defensive he gets beat up slowly but if he trades he gets hurt early but hopkins is very slick and smart so i think he gets beat up slow
