Even Duran seemed overwhelmed by a fighter who was tall and used it to his advantage in Tommy Hearns.

Tyson was at his best when he was 210-220 lbs but at the end of his career he got up to 225-235, noticeably slower than in his prime.

Marciano was smart enough to retire before that happened to him. He was having problems getting down to his usual 185 lbs and decided to call it quits.
plus battlin' bob saterfield had broken his nose in sparring and that's why his nose would always bleed ever since. that's why he retired...... (sorry just watched that movie last night and couldn't resist)

Satterfield, Valdes and Baker were all solid contenders of the era, unfortunately they never got a title shot against Marciano.

Satterfield KO's Bob Baker in the first round. Battlin' Bob was outweighed by 30 lbs.

P4P Satterfield was one of the hardest punchers of all time although he is now mostly forgotten. He also had one of the worst chins in boxing history.

lol. finnish boxing experts are too serious.

tua was kidding. i just watched "resurrecting the champ". in the movie the guy impersonating bob satterfield says he broke rocky's nose in sparring and that's why rocky's nose always bleeds in his last few fights and was the cause for his early retirement. good movie. i recommend it.

I know you were joking but I thought it would be a good way to make a point related to this thread since Satterfield KO'd many opponents who outweighed him by 20-40 lbs.

                Another one:

273 lb Primo Carnera was disqualified against 183 lb Young Stribling. It was most likely a 'fix' though.

Finnish boxer Väinö Myllyrinne was over 8 feet tall and weighed around 400 lbs, he never boxed professionally though.

yeye, just like Paul Williams is marked at 6'1, but if i measured him today, i can see him being a couple ova that.

                      Carnera was that heavy?

I always pictured him to be around Wlad's height and in decent shape at that, but he outweighs him by good 30 pounds.

                      Big bastard.
