This is how I see it.

If Williams can make 147, he is a welterweight. Opponents just have to deal with it. There have been many 6'1"-6'2" Welters in the past. Is it fair? Yes it is.

This crying foul because Williams is too tall is BS talk.

Why is it fair? It is because if people found that it was not, it would open the door for other physical attributes to be considered unfair.

-This guy punches too hard, he should be a Middleweight
-This guy is too fast for this weight class, he should be somewhere else.

You could go on and on. Williams has been beaten before and almost beaten by legit Welters. He can be beaten again also. This unfair crap is just that..crap!

P.S. Both Williams and Pavlik will eventually pay a heavy price for weight class jumping anyway. It may be sooner rather than later.

If Williams can make weight, then he is a welterweight. So Berto is only going to fight guys who are about his size or smaller? That sounds like some bull**** to me, I hope that they somehow accept Cotto as his opponent and Cotto can relieve him of his little green belt because he's not a true champion. Maybe someday he'll be at the level but not now, not being protected the way he is.

If he can't get fights at 147 then he should move up and fight at a bigger weight class. I say he should defintely try 160. he would be a serious force at 154 and 160. At 147 he si going to run into these types of problems and getting fights with these guys who are much shorter men and are at a great disadvantage when they have a reach at 72 - 75 fighting a guy with 82 inch reach and in some cases about 6 to 8 inches in height. I mean if I were a promoter I wouldn't want to match my 5 7 or 5 8 welter weight against him either. It is a bad investment and a bad move period. if you saw him fight at 160 he made that MW look small too.....Lefty

marg has never had trouble making 147 and has never looked drained coming into a fight at 147 so what makes you say he shoudlnt be fighting at that weight? In fact he has broken compubox record for most punches thrown in a fight so i think he doing pretty good at 147.

looks like DiBella and Berto are terrified of this guy, what kind of champion is Berto? DiBella says Berto is too small..and then says Williams should fight Clottey who is like Berto. besides its not height its weight. if there all welters they can all fight. then he says Berto is being brought along the right way, but he already has a world title! if Berto's still scared of some of the top fighters at 147 maybe he should vacate his title.

berto opened his mouth and said "im the best welterwight out there..."

what he should've said was, "im the best welterweight out there, not including paul williams..."

dibella's a *****, and his comments make his man look like a *****.....
im sure if you ask berto, he won't say, "paul is too tall for me to fight."

lefty, all that **** you said doesn't matter....paul williams, w/ the exception of his last fight, has fought all his fights at welterweight. if you call yourself the best ww, thats including pw in the statement. now pw says "prove it," and now he's just too big............

im also having a problem w/ ppl who are saying dibella didn't say anything wrong.......

                    huh?

he said williams is too big for berto to fight, but he thinks clottey, whos about the same size as berto, should fight pw......he even goes so far as to say "itll b a great fight!"

am i the only one who sees this man talking outta his ass?

nobody was saying pw too big after he fought quintana the first time. as a matter of fact, i recall everyone saying pw wasn't even a BIG puncher. now he has to str8 first round ko's, and all of a sudden he's too big, and a fight w/ him is just not fair.......GTFOH!!!!

Paul doesn't need your respect little indian.

You have a nerve critisizing Williams for fighting smaller guys when Tony has more fights above 147 than Paul...not to mention he just fought an overrated dwarf named Cotto.

                      How tall is Golden Johnson??

                      **** outta' here *****.

Let's see Tony "man-up" and rematch Williams..instead of seeking another fight against the Bootyrican bambino...lol
