I am not knocking him IMO just saying that he isn't near sweet pea in terms of fighting. I actually used to like trinidad very much until he got on his lazy **** and just fighting bull**** fights for money. I had the de la hoya fight a draw also.

PBF at those weights fought more in the pocket than he just flat out boxed from the outside. PBF actually sat down on his punches at those weights. Fighters need to be judge by their whole career not just late in their career. If a fighter has the skills their fighting style will change with moving up in weight which is what PBF did and allowed him to win at those higher weights.
I think is unfair to make such a statement, Whittaker moved up from 135(2 in shorter as well). His style didn't change much and he had far less power then PBF. His willingness to win a fight is what made him great, PBFs fight to not lose is obnoxious and though PBF's D is narley I think a potent offense is very good to have. His defense was good enough that he didn't have to change his fight style at a heavier weight.

I watched PBF when he was coming up. His offense was solid, but you can't base things on just the early part of their career. He has always been a master boxer. PBF's fighter selection is annoying as well. Having a good defense against a Hatton or DLh isn't exactly difficult(an old Whittaker made DLH look worse then a young PBF).

Every time I see that it reminds me that Pernell Whitaker has the best defense I've ever seen. And that includes Floyd Mayweather jr.
