Will the Paul williams fan boys duck this thread??? explain

Divisions are in place so you fight people your size and are not at unfair disadvantages. Obviously williams has found a loop hole. As long as you can make weight right? lol check these stats out!

    Here is williams stats:

    6'-3" 82" reach

now check these stats from heavy weights:

    vitali: 6-7 80"
    wlad: 6-6 81"
    Danny williams: 6-3 79"
    John ruiz: 6-2 78"
    Chagaev: 6-1 74"
    Samuel Peter: 77" 6-0
    David haye 6-3 78"
    Lamon Brewster 6-2 77"
    Golota: 6-4 79"
    Muhammad ali: 6-3 80"
    leon spinks 6-1 76"

    and some more fighters:

    Roy jones jr: 5-11 74"
    Antonio Tarver 6-2 75"
    Bernard Hopkins 6-1 75"
    Pavlik: 75" 6-2

Pwill's reach is bigger than both's klitchko's He's taller than 98% of heavy weights. Why is he fighting guys the damn WW size???? Good example of picking on smaller fighters or working the system in an attempt to get rich. would williams be williams if instead of going down in weight he actually did what the norm is and go up in weight as your careers moves on? It's embarrassing for williams to be fighting ww's he has no shame! Reminds me of the big dudes back in the day trying to be tough in front of people have their size it really is laughable. Looking at those stats makes you wonder how good quintana is if he can conquer those astonishing disadvantages he had and makes me wonder how good williams really is. Margarito had him hurt and holding the 10th and 11th round but why???? there's no reason for any ww to be lasting 6 rounds with pwill it's a shame they do!

Paul is NOT the biggest WW. Your ignoring his frame. Chico at 130 6'0 ring a bell? Pernell looking GREAT at 154 against JCV ring a bell? Its about Frame and as far as I'm concerned Margarito is the biggest WW look at his height 5'11 and really huge frame. Keep in mind also...Pernell was 5'5 1/2

Why would they? Margarito can fight at MW as well. I'm getting sick and tired of these "PWill is too tall" threads. He came in at 145 in the Quintana rematch. If he can make the weight, why should you care?

You cannot just look at height and reach that is ridiculous. Different fighters have different body types. Look at the likes of Hearns and Arguello for examples.

Thomas Hearns is considered one of the greatest welterweights on all time and he was 6'2, it doesn't take anything away from him, as long as he makes weight, he's allowed to fight in the weight division, of course guys like Hearns, Williams and Breland have advantages with their height but it doesn't take anything away from them for me, different people are built differently, guys like Hearns, Williams and Breland are/were built with very, very skinny frames, it's not their fault.

the famous loop hole excuse. Can you tell me what the purpose of divisions are? Not just tall, but look at the reach. Are divisions in place so people fight people their own size so disadvantages don't happen? **** pw should NEVER lose a fight at ww NEVER!!!! it's a shame he did. That's all the williams guys can say "he can make the weight" he can make higher divisions easier and fight guys his size why doesnt he?

Yes but Margarito has a much bigger frame then Hearns. I remember watching Hearns vs SRL 1st fight and Hearns weighing 2-3 pounds under 147. Want to know what was more crazy?...That was his weight during fight night

Mike Tyson was a natural WW/LM.

If we're only talking about height, that is.

guy are you saying that paul williams is only 6'3 person that can make 147 in the world? i know several ppl around that height from 135-165 that are just naturally skin and bones no matter what they do. you would have an argument if williams planned on staying at welter his whole career, but he plans on moving up as soon as he clean it out to take on jmw, mw, and possibly smw. the quicker he gets the fights the sooner he leaves ww. williams was not himself for whatever reason, quintana fought good but great? hes 5'9 what bout his advantages over cotto? margarito frame is still bigger then his. and margarito hurting him once in the fight doesnt mean he won or that the fight was extremely close.

williams seemed to fit into 160 pretty easily. He looks skinny to you guys because he drains himself to get to 147. He can easily get to 168 and you woulnd't be saying that.
