For example, has any fighter ever come back to the ring after being in a coma or some other serious injury. Passed medicals somehow,lol.

Trying to think of some examples.

Edwin Valero suffered a head injury from a motorcycle accident that banned him from fighting in the US. He just now is being allowed to fight here after years of being banned.

Frazier also suffered I think a retinal detachment. He apparently came into his second fight with Foreman with a contact lense in one of his eyes.

Boxers are independant contractors and only have pensions if someone (or themselves) are looking out for them.
