Jorge castro was in a pretty bad accident, he was in the hospital for like 30 days, he came back to fight, and got KO'ed. I guess he fought again later and KOed that guy in return.

Cotto's car accident is also pretty well known, but he mostly damaged his arm.

I'm not sure just how serious an injury it was but Jimmy Doyle was said to have suffered a serious head injury against Artie Levine which almost ended his boxing career.

He continued to fight and about a year later died from his injuries in a world title challenge against Ray Robinson.

Do you know if a boxer is seriously injured do they get access to a pension? Or is there a pension only if the manager bothered to set one up?

Boxers are independant contractors and only have pensions if someone (or themselves) are looking out for them.
