Mosley as a "class act" and "gracious sportsman" is overrated. He may be a nice guy, but he's had his excuses and negative points as many fighters do.

It just shows once again how boxing fans have **** memories.

i completely agree with that, people seem to think he is a master boxer, which he is not, speedy slugger is a good description,

I haven't really seen anyone describe Mosley as a master boxer. He is definitely a fighter.

Even if people misunderstand Mosley's style and attributes, it doesn't mean that he is necessarily overrated, but that he is rather being rated wrongly by those who believe he is a master boxer rather than a speedy slugger.

For example a lot of people say that Jake LaMotta is overrated because he isn't the puncher that he is often said to be, but then again he isn't the skilless slugger who eats punches that many say he is either.

Overrated in some ways and underrated in other ways.

Has Shane Mosley ever definitively beat a great fighter? How about dominated a good fighter?

Shane looks like a god against bustas. Against top-shelf opposition? Not so much.

I'd have to see a list of which of his opponents you think were great. No doubt that many rated Oscar DLH as great when he beat him the first time. He was high on almost every P4P list.
