Is Mosley really a great Fighter???

im not tryin to hate but i think shane mosley overrated.. everyone says he's this and that.. he has fought everybody, and beaten some great fighters.. who has beaten? who has he beaten besides oscar de la hoya the 1st time? oscar was robbed in the 2nd match.. he had a long title reign at lightweight which was impressive but who did he beat that was spectacular in that division? besides leija? not all of it was his fault but i dont think he went out of his way to fight guys around his division like a mayweather or even judah.. he skipped 140 altogether, and would of liked to see him at kostya.. at 147 beats oscar, wise (who?), a few other guys and loses twice to vernon forrest.. winky beats him twice.. i would of liked to see a match with mosley vs trinidad at somepoint but unfortunately that never happened.. he beats a shot vargas, puts up a decent fight with cotto, and recently beats mayorga. what are his greatest victories? besides oscar? many people feel he is a great legendary fighter.. i personally dont see it myself.. he is obviously a very good fighter and had amazing physical abilities and crazy hand speed.. drop your thoughts what do you think?

You are talking about someone whose only losses are decisions to three multiple world champions. You can pick at anyones career and find faults. Mosley is a first ballot hall of famer, and he has had an outstanding career. IMO you are holding him up to unrealistic standards.

For some reason I always though he had better defense. I think his defense is kind of ****ty actually. I haven't followed many of his older fights though. He is a tough fucker with a good chin who likes to fight. He is good at what he does.

I think he is past his prime now and should stop fighting.

SSM is what you'd call speed and power THATS IT. He has no skillz no jab. His jab is garbage and his defense is soooooo ****ty for someone who has that kind of speed and reflex. He got this far mainly on speed and power...

I agree. Not slamming him, he's very effective at what he does. Now that he's slowed down with age, he isn't as effective anymore.

Dude gets old and has 1 subpar performance and he's gettin **** on like whoa. SSM won his titles, beat his names, drew his $, had his memorable performances, fought at the top level for many years, and didn't dodge guys even if others did. Always been a class act too. Dude is mos def a great fighter imo.

He's always been pretty open down the middle. He had some slick moves in the pocket here and there, but overall, it seemed more of a case of "his offense was his defense".

He tends to get overrated, perhaps because he seems to be a likeable guy. His speed makes people think he's some sort of great pure boxer, but he's more of a speedy slugger than anything. Cotto outboxing and outjabbing him did not surprise me one bit. Mosley had amazing physical gifts IMO.

Overall he's still a certain HOFer who will still go down as a great (I'm guessing the lower end of the top 100).

I wasn't ****ting on him. I just think that his defense isn't as great as people make it out to be. He likes to trade punches and win fights with speed and power. He is exciting as hell to watch and only has 3 decision losses. He is a great fighter that deserves to be in the HOF IMO.

Yep...I don't want to insult SSM. He is a good fighter but overated some what. Like for example some people say he was the best 135 pounder...he was no better then Mayweather, So how could people go as far as to say that. His accuracy wasn't good either...he had a habit of pausing and waiting to land a powerful shot and many times it'd miss. Best to say that...you would expect SO MUCH more from someone with that kind of talent. How does a fighter with that kind of speed and reflex get hit soo much??
