Whitaker doesn't sound much different from when he was fighting. Look up the definition of "punch drunk" If Whitaker was punch drunk he probably wouldn't be training fighters. Some of you throw the word "punch drunk" around too much.

I've seen Floyd say that the only boxer in recent years who's defense was up there with his was Whitaker. But what else could he say really? I've also seen Roger Mayweather give Pernell big time props which means a lot coming from him. I read where Pernell said Pep was one of his idols . Pep called Whitaker before his fight with Chavez to see how his camp was going. It's kind of like a cycle with fighters from different eras. I don't know if any of you have seen it, but when Roger Mayweather fought Pernell he got in his face during the pre fight physical and started talking ****. Pernell punched Roger in the face with his left and the two had to be separated. It was funny to watch. I saw it on you tube.
