The jab statistic would only have been a factor is the jab meant anything in a fight like that. Neither guy employed a jab worth ****. I had Mayorga well ahead.

Counting the 12th it was 8-4 for Mosley. He landed the actual punches.

Whoops. I voted including the twelfth. Going into the 12th I had Mosley up by one or two points, I can't remember which.

Either way, it was an interesting fight and a great ending. Haven't seen an ending like that in a live fight for a while. I still think Mosley needs to give it up on that win though as he wouldn't beat many, if any, top tier fighter with that performance.

I wonder if he got a bit disheartened after the sixth thinking he couldn't hurt Mayorga ... After that huge sixth round I thought he would come out blasting in the seventh going for a KO. He may have thought that he wasn't hurting Mayorga when, in fact, he was because it was after that round he went to ****e again for a few rounds.

Does anyone else think he should have dropped his father as a trainer a long time ago?

He seemed to do well with John David Jackson, not sure how big a difference it would make now though.

without the knockdowns/knock out (if the round would have just ended) my final scorecard would have been mosley winning by the margin of ONE round.

in essence without the knockdowns it would have been 115-113 for mosley.

i had mayorga winning the last round (by the way) at the time of the stoppage. i expected it to be a split decision half way through the 12th...and if mayorga had reached the final bell it would have been.

i give props to mayorga...i didnt think he'd last (competitively at least) for more than 4 rounds...he gave mosley a run for his money and mosley finished off the fight beautifully.

            a good fight.

Yes, it would be all but pointless to change anything now. I think it showed up in the first fight against Forrest. He just didn't seem to know what to do when Mosley was running up against adversity. It happened every time he was losing a fight, his dad just had no idea what to say or do and ended up making no contribution worth anything.

Mosley should stay at welterweight, It was very close, glad Mosley finished it like he did.

Yeah, I noticed that too, Mosley's father wouldn't know what to say every time Mosley looked discouraged in the corner, he doesn't know how to tell Mosley to do different things, he pretty much says the same things over and over.

But at this stage i dont think a change of trainer is worth it,..
Few years back yes but now there aint no point...

I felt the momentum of the fight was in mayorgas favor and i felt he was ahead in the fight.
