Morales-Barrera I post-fight interview

Then when it came around to the third fight and Barrera did the same thing by going up to Morales after it and trying to shake hands and say "Good fight" Morales flipped and swore at him, threw a bottle at him and his dad etc etc. So, Morales acted just as bad after his loss which was also not questionable like the first one was.I don't think Morales was particularly ignorant. He acted pretty civil during and after the first fight. He said it was personal beforehand, but tried to touch gloves after a slight foul during the fight and shook Barrera's hand afterwards. I always heard that the reason that **** got so out of hand was because when Morales tried to tell Barrera good fight, Barrera acted like a douchebag and told him to **** off or something like that, because he felt he got robbed. Obviously Morales didn't score the fight for himself, so why did Barrera act so hostile towards him because he didn't get the decision? That makes no sense to me.
He did play the HBO card, but... I do think he held particular hatred for Barrera because of how out of control things got after the first fight and Barrera's behavior.
Throwing the water bottle at Barrera (which hit his dad) after the third fight is pretty inexcusable for Morales though.
I think they punched at each other before the second fight, not the first. I might be wrong too.
All is fair with being a douchebag in boxing, until after the fight. If someone wants to say good fight, don't be a **** and tell him to go to hell, that's lame.
You don't have to like someone to respect someone.Comment

Morales was looking for an easy win in the third fight thinking Barrera was finished after the Pacquiao loss - when it didn't materialize, his frustration was evident both during and after the bout. Then when it came around to the third fight and Barrera did the same thing by going up to Morales after it and trying to shake hands and say "Good fight" Morales flipped and swore at him, threw a bottle at him and his dad etc etc. So, Morales acted just as bad after his loss which was also not questionable like the first one was.Comment

Lets try and settle this knockdown business shall we, as its been said before no punch clearly landed in the 12th round to cause the knockdown however as Ledderman stated after the fight rules clearly state that if a fighter goes down via a punch, voluntarily, or through exhaustion then a knockdown has been scored. The fighters came together in the last and Morales's legs could not keep him upright, he was not pushed. Therefore a knockdown WAS correctly scored as was pointed out in the commentaryI couldn't believe the things that Morales said...
Most boxers will make every excuse in the world to avoid saying that they were hurt, losing rounds, getting hit, not landing every punch flush etc. They try to convince everyone that they fought a perfect fight everytime, and anyone who disagrees is trying to rob them.
Morales was hurt a few times, but kept a pretty good poker face, and he punched back every time as well. But in the post-fight interview, he said that Barrera was a great fighter, he thought he was going out on more than one occasion during the fight, etc. He also said he thought he deserved the decision he got, because that knockdown wasn't a real knockdown (which was correct, a punch didn't land), which in effect, concedes that the fight was as close as it could possibly be.
Barrera acted like a **** (as usual) in the post-fight interview. I mean, whatever, he had good reason to think he won (the fight was really, really close, no matter who you scored it for, and with that knockdown, he had even more reason to believe that he should get the decision), but that last comment about "Hey HBO, your champion is not that good" was pretty lame. I'm not sure why the most macho of fighters have to act like such ****s whenever they drop a decision. It's pretty irritating.Comment

The forearm of Barrera pushed the top of Morales's head down when the punched missed.Lets try and settle this knockdown business shall we, as its been said before no punch clearly landed in the 12th round to cause the knockdown however as Ledderman stated after the fight rules clearly state that if a fighter goes down via a punch, voluntarily, or through exhaustion then a knockdown has been scored. Not a knockdown.
If a fighter goes down from exhaustion on their own, then yes, it is a knockdown, but if that is helped in any way by another fighter other than a punch, then it is not considered a knockdown.Comment

i have to agree with the first 3 posts. that 2nd fight was a robbery. morales won at least 7 rounds and was robbed of a knockdown in round 7 imoComment

I think the first was...
The middle rounds showed Morales doing a ton of good work.
I can't believe how many hard left hooks to the body Barrera landed though, and how well Morales took them. Crazy.Comment
