Calzaghe should look impressive in this fight, more impressive than he did against Hopkins atleast.
I hope Jones will be competitive because otherwise there's no point in even having the fight. He could still counter Joe off the ropes and even drop him, but I can't see him winning at this point.
So I repeat: You won't make excuses is Joe struggles ? Or puts on anything BUT a dominant performance? You won't say that Jones still has ability? Etc.
You've said he's shot for months. So no excuses right? Joe must win easily. According to you. If Joe even makes it close, he's ****.
And, there have been several polls on this forum that have all shown that 90 percent of the forum believes Joe "has the advantage" and is the "favorite"- despite what you might think
If Roy manages to fight well and proves me wrong then so be it.
If the Calzaghe fight is close and Roy looks pretty much the same as he did against Trinidad then that will represent a bad Calzaghe performance. As to any excuses I might make, that also depends on the fight. If Cal looks old, I'll say so, if he doesn't then I won't.
I agree most rational people ought to be aware that Calzaghe has the advantage, its as clear as day. I just wanted to help anyone who doesn't understand this to reach the same realisation.
Joe Calzaghe closes out his career against a shot fighter.
I guess everything holds true to form.
Yes he is. I think it has something to do with Roy being a hugely famous legend and the one peer of Calzaghe that throughout his career everyone regarded as the better fighter. It's not a great choice for boxing or Joe's 'legacy' but I can see the romantic appeal of winding up your career in this fashion.
