You say Roy Jones is shot. But that he's capable of making Joe look VERY BAD in small pockets (basically because he's old and shot he can't sustain that like he could in his prime). AKA you think that if Jones could be in his prime he could make Joe look like that for the whole fight. You also mentioned Hopkins in a similar manner.
Yes I could be flip-flopping. As both are very good boxers and I envisage a close fight, my mind does change. It is somewhat difficult to out and out say Calzaghe beats Roy or Roy beats Calzaghe 100% of the time. I could envisage either guy winning.

Well, maybe 'very bad' is an exaggeration. I'm sure Roy, who does retain good handspeed will be able to exploit the traditional vulnerability of the lefty to straight rights, and I'm sure at times he will mange to clown Calzaghe a few times when Calzaghe rushes in, but since I expect him to lose a fairly one sided fight to go with this, 'very bad' is probably going too far.

It's the new "dumb" argument. They're both old!!

Yeah right. I guess every human ages the exact same way. Like I'm the same - physically - as everyone else in this world my age. People need to get a ****ing clue.

Its hilarious- he's at his peak vs. Bernard. Now he's old. JUST IN CASE Roy might beat him and they have to ****tuck on all their **** talking.

Joe without his vulnerable hands would BRUTALLY KO Roy 'Glass Jaw' Jones

They are both old, 37 and 39 would have been regarded as ancient for fighters not long ago. At this point though it is impossible to claim that Calzaghe is as old in relative terms as Roy, who looks a shadow of what he once was, whereas Calzaghe is at most showing signs of slipping a little more each fight. Its very hard to judge where Calzaghe is at right now because his last opponent was Hopkins, but its not justifiable to claim he has fallen as far as Roy. At worst its possible that Calzaghe might 'get old overnight' and look awful, but for that we'll have to wait and see.

You don't always count a "fighters age" by his age, more by his previous performances. To be fair a lot of guys decline after 34 etc.

The ONLY exception is when fighters get near or above 40. Ahem. 39 and 42/3 for example. You can safely just start calling them old at that point and be correct 90 percent of the time.
