Yes, I know, which is why I make reference to their 'relative age' and state that in terms of slipping from former ability, Roy is by far the older of the two.

Based on Calzaghe's recent performances I judge he began the 'aging process' even before he fought Jeff Lacy, but has made up for it with boxing skill. Against Hopkins he did look a lot 'older' than I had previously seen him, but since he was against hopkins this may have been misleading. The upcoming Jones fight will answer most questions about where Calzaghe is at.

      That is all.
Roy is shot to bits IMO

he got hurt early on against Adjamu and he was decent to average against Hanshaw and he fought well against Tito but the pace of the fight suited him that is what will be his undoing in this fight with Calz

Joe took Hopkins for granted and paid the price but against Jones those tactics will work perfectly

At this point though it is impossible to claim that Calzaghe is as old in relative terms as Roy, who looks a shadow of what he once was, whereas Calzaghe is at most showing signs of slipping a little more each fight. Its very hard to judge where Calzaghe is at right now because his last opponent was Hopkins, but its not justifiable to claim he has fallen as far as Roy. At worst its possible that Calzaghe might 'get old overnight' and look awful, but for that we'll have to wait and see.

And that's that. One is slipping, the other's a shadow.

Roy's punchresistance is long gone. I cannot see him match Joe's workrate either. All I hope for is a pretty good fight and perhaps Roy landing a few good shots.

I expect this fight to be much better than the Hopkins one though.

          Roy winning? Naaah

I wouldn't say he's shot but he is way past his prime, If he was shot he wouldn't be winning his last three fights no matter who they were. As for his fight against Calzaghe, Jones will have his moments with his fast accurate combos but he won't be able to maintain it throughout 12 rounds. Calzaghe will just outwork him to a UD.

he looked great against a fat super welterweight who hasnt fought in 3 years and did nothing , just came for money

Calzaghe will beat Jones easy, its a shame because i like jones but he will get dominated
