Amir Kahn Hires Trainer Freddie Roach After Trip

According to several UK media outlets, UK lightweight superstar and 2004 Olympic silver medal winner Amir Khan (18-1, 14KOs) has ohired American-based trainer Freddie Roach after a weekend meeting at Roach's well-known Wild Card gym in Hollywood, California. The hire comes on the heels of the first defeat of Khan's career, a 54-second knockout that was suffered a few weeks ago when facing Colombian puncher Breidis Prescott in Manchester. Last week, Khan fired recently hired trainer Jorge Rubio. The Khan team has not confirmed the hire, but The Guardian reports that an official announcement should be made this week. [details]

if pacquiao unifies his WBC 135 belt with the WBO/WBA/IBF 135 belts against Campbell (or whoever beats Campbell), and Khan takes the Ring 135 title from Marquez (or whoever beats Marquez), would a Pacquiao vs. Khan fight be allowed?

it would be pretty funny if Roach was the trainer of both fighters while they are fighting each other.

for the first 30 seconds in between a round, Roach gives Pacquiao advice, then the final 30 seconds in between a round, Roach goes over to Khan and gives him advice.

    man i am high.

I stopped reading at the part where you suggested that Khan could beat JMM. I also doubt that Khan will fight at 135 again.

btw, what would you do if you were Khan, move to 130 or 140? i hear plenty of people saying Khan was drained making 135, being 5'11.

Mayweather Sr. would be a much better fit with Khan than with Hatton IMO.

It wouldn't make "sense" for Khan, it would make sense for Manny.

As for the rest of the report, whenever someone says, "I'll be hinest with you".....I put both hands around my wallet, and put on my "sceptical" spectacles. Especially the ****Roach. He says, that Khan will need "rebuilding: from the ground up, and then goes on to say that thisis because "SOMETIMES" a KO can be devastating.

So what he "may" really mean is that Khan MAY need rebuilding. [or again, he may NOT]. At least, I THINK that's what he's saying. Maybe the reporter himself got confused????

He needs to make up his mind BEFORE he speaks. Of course people have been listening to his crap for so long now, without much protest, that he feels he can get away with garbled inconsistencies like this.

                  Maybe he Khan.....

It's a pretty good fit for him but I agree with Scott, Mayweather Sr. would have been better.
