Well now lets see. He's very fast, throws punches with volume, angles and variety, has excellent footwork and has an iron chin. The slow, predictable Kelly Pavlik who relies on outworking or stopping his opponent should have no trouble!

Bottom line, Calzaghe is far too good a boxer for Pavlik, by quite some distance.

Comes Out At 36 To Fight Even Older Opposition, Mind Exceptions Lacy And Kessler, Who Were Both Green Or Just Incomplete (did I Say Unproven?) Fighters. No One's Saying Calzaghe Is A Bad Fighter, He's Just Not Bernard Hopkins Good And Even Less Roy Jones Good. Whoever Saw The Bernard Fight Clearly Saw A 5 Years Younger Hoppkins Ass Whooping Joe (5 Years Younger Bernard Would Still Be Older Than Joe).

I really didn't think the strength of Joe's chin was up for dispute. He routinely walks through his opponents best shots. Many people believe its his best attribute since it allows him to box the way he does. I'm pretty sure its regarded as one of the best in the sport.

No, but Pavlik is not as sneaky with his shots. Hopkins caught Calzaghe on the way in, with a perfect right hand counter, and then fell forwards to make sure Joe went down. When have you seen Kelly throw a shot like that? Never, because it's a style difference. Kelly is agressive, Hopkins is a counter puncher. Joe has always had more trouble with guys who counter punch than those who come forward.

Hopkins' power had little to do with the KD, it was a perfectly placed counter right whilst Joe was coming in and was slightly off balance. He got up straight away.

He wasn't hurt or spaghetti-legged like say.....Pavlik was against Taylor.

Against Pavlik, Joe wouldnt be rushing in trying to make an old man fight. Pavlik can only fight one way - going forward. And Joe would pick him off on the back foot.

Unless Calzaghe is shot to bits, a Wide and comfortable UD win.

Pavlik is ONE dimentional, he know one way of fighting and that is forward. He's exciting and throw alot of hard punches and can KO a guy. I enjoy watching him fight but he isn't going to beat Calzaghe if they fight anytime soon. Dawson is the one that will beat Calzaghe.

Dawson can box, move, punch. He hasn't got the greatest chin but it'l hold up against Joe. Pavlik can jab and throw a straight right. So far he hasn't faced anyone that is smart enough to get inside his punches but as soon as he doesn he'll be beaten. Dawson is the only fighter around 160-175 that can beat Calzaghe.

Only Pavlik's right hand is a SLEDGE HAMMER. Will only need to work once or twice. And he can box too. he needs better inside fighting and footwork but hey, he's 25. And a champion. Where was Calzaghe at 25?
