Calzaghe at his best is better than Pavlik at his best.

But Joe appeared to be slowing down a bit in the Hopkins fight, so I believe age is catching up with him, and if he fights Pavlik next year, it could go either way.

Prime Calzaghe, back in 1998 - 2003 when he won most of his fights by knockout, was definitely better than Pavlik.

Well now lets see. He's very fast, throws punches with volume, angles and variety, has excellent footwork and has an iron chin. The slow, predictable Kelly Pavlik who relies on outworking or stopping his opponent should have no trouble!

Bottom line, Calzaghe is far too good a boxer for Pavlik, by quite some distance.

i think pavlik has a good chance in beating calzaghe . . . especially since he's getting older, but i dont think it is a certain thing mainly due to the similar style that pavlik has to kessler and how calzaghe did clearly beat him.

I think they do, thats not to say 100 percent sure pavlik would beat calzaghe. Hell, we probably won't know because Calzaghe knows how risky it is to take such a fight. He realizes that Pavlik isn't no one dimensional jeff lacy, he realizes that pavlik has fought the tougher competition compared to kessler. Pavliks resume destroys the likes of Kesslers. Pavlik worked his ass off to get where he is today. Joe Calzaghe asks who the **** is Kelly Pavlik. I ask you who the **** is Joe Calzaghe?

Very good question. The guy hides in Europe for most his career. Comes out at 36 to fight even older opposition, mind exceptions Lacy and Kessler, who were both green or just incomplete (did i say unproven?) fighters. No one's saying Calzaghe is a bad fighter, he's just not Bernard Hopkins good and even less Roy Jones good. Whoever saw the Bernard fight clearly saw a 5 years younger Hoppkins ass whooping Joe (5 years younger Bernard would still be older than Joe).
Kelly Pavlik can definitely beat Joe Calzaghe too.
