I respect the MMA guys for doing what they do and there ground game etc. but I think it looks horrible. It just isn't as appealing to me to watch to guys grab each others arms/legs etc.
I struggle to watch the stand up game as well even someone as well schooled as Silva, Fedor and Crocop some of the best strikers in the business (Fedor less so better on the ground) look like amateurs when they try to exchange and throw punches.Comment

Over the years i have learned to love MMA and i all ways watch the big shows IE UFC,Pride etc etc
But pugilisticly speaking MMA is light years behind boxing, and will never have the pure theater of a top boxing match !
Anybody that watched Cotto v Margarito this year will vote for that!
So for me Boxing will all ways be the DADDY of Combat pugilistic Sports!Comment

I am an ex wrestler and life long martial arts practitioner.I'm a judoka and a catcher whose wrestled in high school.
Catch is the one of the pure sets of American wrestling.
Just because there has been an influx of professional wrestling fan, doesn't mean that that's the base of MMA. If it was, there must've been a hell of a lot pro wrestling fans in Brazil, Holland and Russia.
and the truth is Wrestling should be mandatory! even back in the 1900s almost every boxer like jack dempsey and willie pep took up judo or wrestling to help them in the clinch, jack dempsey was an expert catch wrestler with amazing locks.
I love boxing but I think boxers all of them should cross train in wrestling.
A wrestler dictates where the fight is he can keep it standing or take it to the ground.
If you got a great sprawl you can keep it boxing, if you got amazing shoots and base you can keep it on the ground.
many of these guys are ignorant to the fact.
but I still like boxing more because of the prestige, history it has in america.Comment

lol. That's why I rarely watch MMA. I cringe when I see some one dimensional hack display dismal striking skills. Boxers at least know how to do their job right.
I'll only watch an MMA fight if it involves two well rounded fighters (and there are only a handful of them in the world IMO)Comment

I could care less what the PPV numbers are and whatever else. I like boxing better and it's what I spend my money on when I want to see a PPV event. I wrestled in high school so I appreciate the ground game of the MMA guys especially when they scramble out of moves, but Boxing is still something I look forward to most.Comment
