I'm not saying it would make it a lot better. But, If Hopkins retired right after then it's like. It was his last fight cause he was shot, that's why Calzaghe won But if he beats another P4P fighter after it proves he has something left in the tank.

It won't make a huge difference though.

If Hopkins beats Pavlik im sure we will see a Hopkins Calzaghe rematch, there first fight was disputed greatly and a second fight will be more drama, and cash for the sport, plus not a mention a damn good fight.

I pray that doesn't happen, the fight was awful to watch.

Yeah I agree I think Hop is an ATG as much as the next fan but he can put more fans to sleep during his fights than opponents

              True.

I think he was entertaining up to the Tito fight. After that, he got worse and worse. And now his fights are very uneventful.

I liked the Hopkins-Calzaghe fight a bit for some reason though.

If Hopkins beats Pavlik then I think the significance of Joe's win will rise a great deal. I can't see it happening though, Bernard doesn't have enough left to beat a hungry young bull like Pavlik.

depends on how he beat him really. if bhop got a split decision as joe did in a fight that really could have gone either way than it says both pavlik and joe are a good match up! if bhop blows him out than yeah it shows he has some left, and joe beating him was a good win(which we already know). if pavlik beats him more convincingly than joe did i see no reason why joe could, and should not fight pavlik.

I think whether or not Calzaghe fights Pavlik will be 100% dependent on how he looks and feels against Roy Jones. If he beats Roy easily and still feels he is close to his best I think he will fight Pavlik as I think in this condition he would beat him. On the other hand if he looks or feels ordinary and feels he is slipping then he won't take the fight. THis is all assuming that Pavlik beats the faded BHop which I take to be pretty much a given.
