Well lets go back to the start of this thread and the talk about Thompson calling out Haye and giving Wlad a tough fight. Dont forget that Thompson was a former sparring partner of Wlad and probably knew all his tricks and what to expect before the fight. Obviously Thompson isn't on Wlad's level but when you fight a guy that you sparred 50+ rounds with you tend to get used to your partner, but anyway I agree Thompson would be a decent test for Haye although based on level of competition and maybe even hype I'd have to go with Haye. Besides one thing that bothered me about Thompson was his tendency in the Wlad fight to wait for the action to come to him. That's not how you win fights just ask hollywood DLH how that worked out for him against Tito.

A counter arguement is some guys heavily muscled guys like Tyson and Lacy (come to mind) tire during fights even though they're cut like statues.

Tony Thompson called him out. considering that Tony just gave Wladimir one of his toughest fights in a long time, youd think that Haye would want to jump on the opportunity and do better than Wlad did...that would put him at the top of the Heavyweight rankings.

is it possible that Haye fears Tony Thompson?
            maybe Haye is...a gutless wonder?
There has never been anything offical saying Haye has ever opened talks with Mercer, Ok this Chapman guy isnt very good but that is who Haye will most likely be fighting, I would have like to see him fight Barrett but as long as he is one step closer to Wlad who cares.

Haye should be a man, and fight Kevin Johnson.

Or Tony T, that would be a great test. Or Chambers. Either of those 3 would be good. And I think Tony would have a good chance of winning (Good chin and defense, he could last later into the fight where Haye may gas). Chambers could also beat him, but I think Haye would beat Kevin J no doubt.

Haye, please deliver on what you said. I respected Haye because, while he was talking, if he backed it up then it's good. He said he was going to fight all top guys, no tomato cans or bums, but he seems to be doing the opposite

Totally agree. I wouldn't mind seeing JD Chapman get KO'd into oblivion and forget about his prospect status ya know? For his second fight there can always be Kevin Johnson or Eddie Chambers. Then after two fights Wlad could choose to fight Haye with his voluntary defense in mid-2009.

Ask the WBO to rank Mercer in their top 10? jeeeezz, Haye is really a desperate for an easy, profitable walkover. I hope the fans boycott this if it really happens.

                      Just pick up a challenge!

Rahman, Toney, Chambers, Thompson, K. Johnson, Monte, Bell, Skelton, are all at hand.
