I took a poll of a writer from ESPN, a former 3-time champ, and two other prominent writers. All picked Calzaghe. I had no clue these boxing forums were the beginning and ending of what the world thinks (go out much?) but I'm here to tell you it's not.
    wow now.

    I know Calzaghe's the favourite.

But individually, if you pick Roy to win, and Calzaghe wins, Calzaghe has created an upset in that persons mind.

What the **** does that have to do with getting out?

I don't actually speak to anyone properly about boxing without the internet, caus noone over here knows who Jones is

Jones will win the fight, but Calzaghe will on the judges scorecards. And it has not much to do with Calzaghe, except for the fact that he throws a lot of "punches". Compbox will say Calzaghe landed 300 punches, Jones won't have a mark.

It will look just like the Hopkins fight. And its a shame. I hate to say it. 116-112 Calzaghe...I see a split decision though.

And all you will have to do is watch the fight in slow motion and see that none of the 300 punches really land.

ppl wondering why ppl are picking roy here is why... despite joe being the more active, currently in p4p, smw champion. a lot of ppl still feel his smw division is one of the weakest in boxing. saying kessler and lacy doesnt mean much to some ppl. and when he planned on moving up to lhw they said they were first targeting clinton woods. the kd from hopkins @ 43 didnt really impress the masses. Hopkins was never really known for his power, hasnt knocked anybody out since de la hoya and not sure last fighter he knocked down. he may be a really good boxer, but there are still questions if he is elite or as great as his record shows. he has skills but ppl want to see them on display against the best. if hes the best and proves it im sure ppl would get behind him but hype and speculation is why there is doubt and hate.

gets credit for being part of one biggest fighting events of the year.ring lhw champs are supposed to beat the 6th ranked lhws. doesnt matter how many ppl predict "upset" for whatever reason. gets credit for fight a famous name. ppl in america still dont know who calzaghe is, this event could change that but then hes retiring after so it wont matter.

I can see Calzaghe taking Casamayor in his next fight. "Casamayor is a legend and I'm a legend killer! This fight is good for my career, yada yada Lacy, yada yada."

Among people who have followed boxing for decades, Calzaghe is the favourite. Among NSB posters, many of whom have been watching boxing since last week, that isn't the case.

Your post may (or may not) explain why the people on this forum are picking Roy, but that doesn't make the reasons valid. factual, or connected to reality in any noticeable way.
