If he only won 5 out of 10 rounds, it's not exactly a given that he's going to win the last two rounds.
Of course it's an unfair advantage. It gives you information that your opponent does not have.

If he didn't know the scores, he may have fought differently.

But reiterating Jake's point. Even if Valuev knew he was ahead, he would never have been ahead by more than a couple of rounds. Valuev isn't exactly going to do what we saw with the Olympic open scoring and go into the four-corner offense.

No, but even a limited fighter like Valuev can be more defensive or offensive, increase or decrease his punch output, take more risks etc.

This is cheating, and it's against the rules. If you know the scores then of course you have an unfair advantage.

You're winning? Take it easy, just don't get caught. You're losing? Put everything you have into winning these rounds or scoring a KO. This is true whether we're talking about Valuev-Ruiz, DLH-Tito, or any fight where there's a possibility that the last two rounds with have an affect on who gets the W.

Shouldn't the title of this be John Ruiz HUGS back at the WBA?

First, it's an allegation that Valuev's corner knew the scores. That needs to be proven first. When was the last time John Ruiz lost a fight and didn't protest it? Second, we'd need to see that Valuev's corner passed along information that they wouldn't have otherwise. Would they have had any reason, had they not (allegedly) learned the scores, not to tell their fighter he was winning anyway?

I'm just saying that the accusations, if true, might not have changed anything. I had Valuev winning a close bout.

Yep, at the moment it's all one big 'if' whether or not Valuev/his team did anything wrong. It's possible that Ruiz is wrong.

He needs to just go away and stop making headlines in boxing cuz its ruining the sport. RUIZ, PLEASE RETIRE FOR THE SAKE OF BOXING.
