But reiterating Jake's point. Even if Valuev knew he was ahead, he would never have been ahead by more than a couple of rounds. Valuev isn't exactly going to do what we saw with the Olympic open scoring and go into the four-corner offense.Comment

This is cheating, and it's against the rules. If you know the scores then of course you have an unfair advantage.
You're winning? Take it easy, just don't get caught. You're losing? Put everything you have into winning these rounds or scoring a KO. This is true whether we're talking about Valuev-Ruiz, DLH-Tito, or any fight where there's a possibility that the last two rounds with have an affect on who gets the W.Comment

(Earlier today the World Boxing Association issued a response to a press release recently distributed by Team Ruiz. Team Ruiz responds below in bold type, point-by-point to the WBA’s five-point statement.) [details]Comment

No, but even a limited fighter like Valuev can be more defensive or offensive, increase or decrease his punch output, take more risks etc.

I'm just saying that the accusations, if true, might not have changed anything. I had Valuev winning a close bout.Comment

boring or not... that was just unfair... either way... i didnt expect nothing less from germany..Comment

First, it's an allegation that Valuev's corner knew the scores. That needs to be proven first. When was the last time John Ruiz lost a fight and didn't protest it? Second, we'd need to see that Valuev's corner passed along information that they wouldn't have otherwise. Would they have had any reason, had they not (allegedly) learned the scores, not to tell their fighter he was winning anyway?

I feel embarrassed for Ruiz. He is an extremely boring fighter and is further decaying a hw division that is already at its lowest point. I can maybe stand Valuev cuz an eventual fight with wlad will do boxing some good because of Valuev's marketability as a 7'0 giant but Ruiz is COMPLETELY useless. He needs to just go away and stop making headlines in boxing cuz its ruining the sport. RUIZ, PLEASE RETIRE FOR THE SAKE OF BOXING.Comment
