Why did you use Liddell and not Couture?
GoldenBoy/Affliction Boxing/MMA ppv's is a Bad Idea Boxing will Suffer!

I read some mma writer saying This is a bad idea because it will surely bury boxing, he said this is good for MMA because those boxing fans who have been sick of the boring boxing matches will change to MMA when they get a taste of the raw excitement. He also said Boxing will loses all its fans and the sport might be buried because once you watch MMA you do not go back.
He also said when the boxing matches go up you will hear nothing but boos in the crowd and it will be similar to a half time and people will start taking their restroom breaks and food breaks and the seats will be empty during the boxing matches similar to a undercard of a boxing event.
I think this writer speaks the truth because many of my friends are MMA fans and they hate boxing, they are not open to it because they are brain washed by Dana White who spewed boxing is corrupt to them.
IT is the honest truth I do not think this will work, I think Goldenboy and affliction could still do business but just promote boxing and mma separately.
If oscar believes he can get some Crossover fans from mma to watch boxing he is gonna have to wake up to a harsh reality, I know MMA fans and the majority have ADD and will never give boxing a chance especially without White american champions or fighters.
personally I think it sucks because the boxers that need exposure from the undercard won't get their spot in the sunlight in they have an mma fight.
plus, mma just sucks in general. I mean, I'll watch it if there's nothing else good on, but I don't wanna pay for it.Comment

I'm not the biggest UFC/MMA fan but I think this idea is awesome.
If it was an all boxing undercard the event would suck just like every undercard in the past 5 years (with some special exceptions of course) - if they teamed up with Affliction at least it won't be a 20-0(19) up and comer versus a 20-12(8) guy like many of the newer cards are putting on. Like last week's Victor Ortiz and Julio Cesar Garcia fights. Two throwaways.
I don't know, most people are against this but I'm for having a few cards like this and seeing where it goes.Comment

gbp is trying to get some of that mma demographic (white doodz).

So why will they like boxing a sport in which very few have participated in recently and have not succeeded in for a while.
Race plays a huge factor in marketing thats why you get shows targeted towards specific demographics.
Boxing would need more dominate white champions for it to succeed.lComment

just like nate campbell he started late but is still fresh, juan manuel marquez as well these are small fighters who are boxing late in there career.

Also it's ridiculous some of you claiming MMA is a white folks sport only. More shocking is even claiming UFC is a sport like i read here somewhere in these forums. In act mma has started way way back in brazil under the name of "vale tudo" (translates "everything goes") and had most of it's growth in Japan where it remains at an higher quality to this day! I'm not a white folk and i dig MMA as i dig boxing. I get pumped over both of these sports the same. Think of them as MMA being a 100m spring race, while Boxing is the marathon.Comment

Just like how EMinem a blonde hairs blue eyes white guy could get away with his vulgar lyrics because white parents saw him as unthreatening even though he talked about raping his mom and killing his wife it was consider art because a white guy said it.
if a black guy said that it will be sick and disgusting.
thats just how it is.Comment

how can golden boy get the Demographic of MMA when most MMA is 90 percent White? Boxing does not appeal to white people this is why they lost a huge chunk, boxing has a history of saying white hype now the mainstream has someone to look up to before whites were said they cannot fight, now with the wrestling added they have a chance to be considered fighters.
So why will they like boxing a sport in which very few have participated in recently and have not succeeded in for a while.
