GoldenBoy/Affliction Boxing/MMA ppv's is a Bad Idea Boxing will Suffer!

I read some mma writer saying This is a bad idea because it will surely bury boxing, he said this is good for MMA because those boxing fans who have been sick of the boring boxing matches will change to MMA when they get a taste of the raw excitement. He also said Boxing will loses all its fans and the sport might be buried because once you watch MMA you do not go back.

He also said when the boxing matches go up you will hear nothing but boos in the crowd and it will be similar to a half time and people will start taking their restroom breaks and food breaks and the seats will be empty during the boxing matches similar to a undercard of a boxing event.

I think this writer speaks the truth because many of my friends are MMA fans and they hate boxing, they are not open to it because they are brain washed by Dana White who spewed boxing is corrupt to them.

IT is the honest truth I do not think this will work, I think Goldenboy and affliction could still do business but just promote boxing and mma separately.

If oscar believes he can get some Crossover fans from mma to watch boxing he is gonna have to wake up to a harsh reality, I know MMA fans and the majority have ADD and will never give boxing a chance especially without White american champions or fighters.

I don't know if boxing will suffer, but it will be interesting to see how GBP gets these cards distributed. HBO is not going to do PPVs with MMA on them, unless all the MMA action is over before the 4 televised boxing matches.

On the other hand, a co-headline PPV with Fedor and someone like Mosley could be very interesting to see how many buys they get.

the only name that could make that ppv a success for boxing is Mayweather. if it did happen i would like to see boxing repped to the fullest and show those mma pricks that boxing is and will be the dominant combat sport

You want to show off MMA noobs.

MMA pricks don't give a crap. They're too worried about getting a #2 organization up and running.

What boxing has going for it is the much better preparation of the fighters. They may take months to prepare for a serious fight but you see 43 year olds like Bernard Hopkins still being able to fight for 12 rounds, whereas chuck lidell at 37 or 38 was gassed after one round in the wanderlei silva fight. In terms of excitement and competition mma leads. You have the best fittest fighters still challenging for the tittles. But for me the most defining facts why boxing will lead to mma eventually are number one: fighters don't get to choose who they defend against building fake padded records doing so; and number 2, no one in the shadows does that either. Dana White has a face and he calls the shots.
