  • Anyone else think Hatton stops Malinaggi?

Given that Malinaggi has no power, which is pretty much Hattons only weakness, I am going with Hatton by TKO over Malinaggi.

    Whats your take on it?

Also is it just me or does it seems like its taking forever for all these great upcoming fights to get here!

    Its not happening.

If cotto couldnt stop malignaggi then i doubt hatton will.

I think hatton has to get to paulie fight...

i expect (or hope paulie and his team have the brains) to fight hatton outside for all 12 rounds...using the jab...constantly...using good defense and not getting stuck in the ropes.

i noticed hatton started to get really tired in the last part of the tune up against lazcano...if paulie can make hatton work for it he may tire him out to steal some late rounds...

the way i see it...first few rounds: paulie (hatton has to adjust to his speed).

middle rounds: hatton gets strong and use paulie's speed and wins the middle part of the fight.

late rounds...hatton tires out and paulie steals the last few rounds on boxing ability.

predicition: malignaggi wins by a CLOSE SPLIT DECISION...something of the 7 rounds to 5 rounds variety.

in my opinion both fighters have left so many questions unanswered that it really is a pickem fight.

if the hatton that fought lazcano shows up then paulie will win a decision.

if the paulie that fought ndou the second time shows up then hatton whoops him good.

if the paulie that fought ndou the FIRST time shows up hatton will get outboxed and outclassed.

and finally if the hatton that fought tszyu shows up then he whoops paulie.

    simple as that.

each fighter has been inconsistant as of late so its hard to make a clear/fair predicition or to write either fighter off. especially now with paulie's broken hand and hatton putting on 40lbs between fights and then cutting it off in 1 and 1/2 months is finally slowing him down.

but i have to go with malignaggi by decision.

Don't compare Cotto to Hatton, sure Cotto has KO power but at LWW hes a total different fighter, he lacks stamina, punch rate and was weight drained etc. Hatton punches often, punches hard and has a bucket load of stamina. Hatton IMo will tko/ko him, my signature proves it.

Hatton may be able to stop Paulie and because Cotto couldn't doesn't mean Hatton can't, Paulie appears to be a lesser fighter than the one that fought Cotto plus Cotto and hattons style are different as Cotto's is a more patient attacking style and uses his jab to set up power shots to the head and body where Hattons is bullying, rough inside fighting working his combos on the inside. I don't think Hatton stops Paulie though.

Paulie has a good set of boxing skills but lacks the power and defense to beat Hatton. There will be rounds where he will outbox Hatton but he won't be able to do it for 12 rounds. Paulie's speed won't be a factor because their handspeed is actually about the same, plus you include Hattons bullying style and fast footwork means he will close the gap between him and paulie quickly and will bully him on the inside. Hatton will win a UD.

I think Malignaggi's hands will play a big factor in this fight. If anything serious happens to his hands during the fight, it will surely spell an end to Paulie. I'm not so sure Hatton will stop him, but Paulie's confidence will take a big dive knowing he will struggle to put anything on Ricky. If Hatton finds a change in Paulie's performance through the fight, he will try and go for a KO, but i think Ricky will win through decision. I will be routing for Paulie though.

Hatton is more likely to score a KO than Cotto because he is more likely to need one. Cotto was winning on the scorecards and so he didn't need to go all out.

Hatton however may get outboxed, and enter the last few rounds needing a KO to win. If so, he's going to throw the kitchen sink at Paulie looking to finish him off.

I think Malignaggi will win on points, however.

Anyone else think there is too much money to be made with Hatton for him to lose (even if he does "lose"), such as Goldenboy paying off the judges?.
