Give it up. Nothing is perfect. Even during the 15rd days there were evenly matched fights where the eventual loser would go "if i only had 1 more rd"Comment

i nevered knew that was the reason.....thanks...FROM WIKIPEDIA
Mancini went to the funeral in South Korea, but he fell into a deep depression afterwards.[3] He has said that the hardest moments came when people approached him and asked if he was the boxer who "killed" Duk Koo Kim. Mancini went through a period of reflection, as he blamed himself for Kim's death. In addition, Kim's mother committed suicide four months after the fight, as did the bout's referee, Richard Green, in July of 1983.[5]
As a result of this bout, the WBC took steps to shorten its title bouts to a maximum of 12 rounds. The WBA and WBO followed in 1988 and the IBF did in 1989.[5]Comment

a common misconception is that it was done soley for safety reasons.
while that is a reason, it was almost entirely done to suit the TV stations. Now that big boxing matches are only on HBO and SHOWTIME, there is absolutely no reason there cannot be 15 round fights anymore.Comment

Give what up?..
I'm givin an opinion on what I think would be less controversial..
it's not about having "1 more round" it's about having less of a chance of a draw..hell 11 would be fine too..
Draws are always possible tho..but with even rounds it's more probable..Comment

Im saying even in the 15rd days there were still draws so there's never going to be a perfect solution. If draws are your biggest concern then changing the scoring system or maybe the weight of gloves would be more appropriate.
I think boxing should take a rule from world combat league and deduct points 4 stalling to ensure nonstop actionComment

LOL..I stated that since my first post..I understand that...I was just wondering why 12 out of all rounds..why an even number?..Im saying even in the 15rd days there were still draws so there's never going to be a perfect solution. If draws are your biggest concern then changing the scoring system or maybe the weight of gloves would be more appropriate.

LOL. And that would single-handedly ruin boxing.Im saying even in the 15rd days there were still draws so there's never going to be a perfect solution. If draws are your biggest concern then changing the scoring system or maybe the weight of gloves would be more appropriate.

It's boxing, not the World Combat League. If you want non-stop action, stick to the WCL. Boxing has such a rich history, it`s a battle between styles, brawler vs slick counter-puncher. The contrast, it what keeps boxing interesting, the fact that there is no `right` style.Comment

forget 13, they should make it 11 or 9.more fighters would fight more often.and more would actually throw more in those fights aswell.Comment
