Naturaly or not Guzman needs to be a ****ing man and do his job. When he signed that contract it porbably read in the limit of 135lb and not making the weight makes him look unproffesional.

If Guzman does win, this weight issue would put a taint on it. Campbell is the bigger man but he made the effort to drop to 135. Although Guzman's got no power like Castillo, this stinks of what the latter did in the Corrales rematch as it seemed on fight night that he was obviously stronger not having to drain like Chico did. Guzman doesn't get a title shot and there's no credibility with a W. Sucks to be him right now.

That is just bad, maybe that's why Mayweather Sr. was so respectful, he knew Guzman was not on weight, there's no reason why he couldn't make it.

i never said they wouldnt be aware, i said they wouldnt care. Your average person wont care if the guy made weight or not, they are still fighting. And the winner will be remembered more in the long run even if he didnt make weight.

and who's you to say what the average viewer does or doesn't care about?

if I were an average viewer and subscriber of Showtime, I'd be more inclined to watch a Title fight on boxing .. plus this isn't just 1 title on the line it's three, again I think it's an over generalization to say "average viewer doesn't care" ... as I didn't think most average viewers watched boxing to begin with.

But generally speaking as a Sports fan, wouldn't you be more inclined to watch if it was for a Title(s)? apply this logic to other sports such as Playoffs, Championships games .. even if you don't follow those sports, wouldn't you be more inclined to watch if it was the Championship of something?

I mean come on, it's not like Guzman and Campbell were having a catch weight bout, the whole original purpose/reason for this fight was because Guzman was the WBO Super Feather Champ moved up .. and became mandatory to Campbell's 135 belt. Thus the title fight.

of course you know that already, but a big relevance to this fight left when Guzman failed to make weight ... like this topic implies.

again look at how this fight would be advertised .. Guzman who's undefeated and won titles in 122, 130 goes up in weight again to Lightweight to try to get Campbell's three belts

that above selling point is royally blown out the window now that Guzman failed to make weight.

granted Campbell and Guzman aren't even close to mainstream (Campbell might be more so cuz of time spend on Friday Night Fights)

but still to just blow off the fact that Guzman missing weight doesn't matter because the "average viewer" won't give a **** is very silly.

yes the winner (especially if it's Guzman) will be remembered more, but all Joan will have to show for it is in the W column as he doesn't have any belts to show for his efforts (again hypothetical scenario if Guz wins)

so that's great and all if Guzman can pull out the W and sure he'll be remembered more in the long run.

but not so positively as he failed to make weight and won a non title fight.

sure a wins a win, but Guzman ****ing blew it by being over weight.

He was actually the biggest KO artists they had in the division and was knocking everyone he fought out. Either way, he doesn't have the pop on his punches anymore especially with all his hand problems as well.

This is really surprising to say the least. First lightweight fight, for the titles Campbell has and to be recognised as the top guy there and he does this?

I can't believe it. His monitoring by his coach and nutritionist was obviously terrible in the last week. They're more to blame than Guzman is. This is awful.

How is that possible? Guzman is the only one held responsible here.
