alot of people says that Bowe was afraid of Lewis and diddnt want to fight him. What poeple seems to forget is that the fight was signed and was suppose to be in March 1995 but Lewis lost to McCall so the fight was cancelled!

That's false information. The fight was never signed. Lewis was Bowe's mandatory after Lewis beat Razor Ruddock in an elimination fight between 1 and 2 contenders. Bowe and his manager Rock Newman didn't want the fight, so Bowe publicly threw his WBC belt in the trash to avoid fighting Lewis. Bowe was stripped and Lewis was given the WBC title by default. Bowe went on to fight a washed up Michael Dokes and Jesse Ferguson. Bowe never even came close to a signed fight with Lewis. Bowe and was never ranked by the WBC again after he was stripped.

I think Bowe would of knocked Lewis clean out.
Lewis was still a garbage can champion though lol

That is true when Bowe held the title he would not fight lewis but i have read in several books that newman signed a deal for bowe to fight lewis just before the mccall fight.

I remember boxing in 1995 and there was never any talk of a signed fight between Bowe and Lewis or a fight in March.If someone is claiming that now, I don't believe it one bit.

in postion to fight Tyson next Tyson offered Lewis some money

I have on tape an interview with Frank Maloney from the 1990s where he says that the fight was agreed until Lewis lost to McCall.

Why would Lewis be the coward when Tyson's team(Don King) paid Lewis to avoid the fight? There's no logic to that. That step aside money was 4 million dollars. That's not chump change when he didn't even have to work for it.
