translation - i ride the **** of any white fighter who gains an iota of fame and pay close attention (HATERADE!!!) to those that threaten them. especially if they aren't a milky white. -
That's crap, I was at the press conference in London where they announced that Haye would fight Johnson and the guy didn't even turn up, so they had to look for a new opponent. This was September 2008.Comment

We should wait and see what happens. I think Haye needs to be alot more prolific, and develop as a heavyweight with regular fights, not annual ones.Comment

Haye has said in interviews that it will take him up to two years to grow into being a HW. It's a long, slow process of adding weight gradually instead of piling it on - like Roy Jones - and facing the consequences thereafter. All this means he can't go wading into the divisions biggest names just yet. Whilst his hitting poses a danger to any HW he just doesn't have the mass to counter some of the larger heavies using their weight to tire him out.
Johnson would be an excellent choice. He's not an elite HW, but he's no tomato can either. If Haye is serious about taking on the brothers K he has to build up to them slowly and not go rushing in to be thrown around like a rag doll.Comment

Pfft Haye didn't back out of a fight with Kevin Johnson. Plus I think the fact is that Vitali has been a heavyweight (and a champion) for years now so you'd maybe expect him to be fighting better opposition. Of course from Vitali's point of view, there isn't much quality besides the Klitschko brothers in the HW division. At least we finally have some good prospects and decent fights in the making including Haye, Povetkin, Arreola, Chambers, Klitschko's, Chagaev etc.Originally posted by CarnivoreInteresting how David Haye bashes Vitali for fighting Kevin Johnson, but he BACKED OUT of a fight with Johnson, and chose old shot Monte Barrett instead!

Haye decided against it because he knew he'd have a tough fight with Johnson.Pfft Haye didn't back out of a fight with Kevin Johnson.
