Cotto alone, isolated and in a mental slump.

Maybe he is in the gym working hard cutting hiself off from the press and peole to prepare for his next match. To get into excellent shape physically and be prepared for a war like he just had with Antonio. If he was so slummped over it they wouldn't be signing 2009 rematch already. I think he is pissed off at himself for losing and not being able to take the punishment. He probably think s if he were in better sape and spent more time being in better shape rather then a celeberty in his home counrrty maybe he would have won? He ust a lot of question marks right now and he needs a fight to get his mind right...Lefty

It is healthy to have alone time after a loss like this but he needs to think about snapping out of it soon...

Maybe me and my english is to blame. The title wasn't meant to be funny as I find the article very sad indeed.

Here's to hoping for a nice bounce back for Cotto, although I must say that such a physically and mentally devastating defeat is very hard to recover from. Cotto will likely comeback IMO but by no means is it certain that it will be with the same force he had before Margarito.

I dont doubt that loss ****ed him up little menatally.. The man was on top and very confident he would beat Margarito (for some reason) and then everything came crashing down.

Cotto feels not. Cotto needs not friends. He is a machine..
They are rebuilding him... Bigger. Stronger. Faster.

Some of those in Puerto Rico, including people who Cotto was close to long before he became Top Rank chattel, are saying that the ex-welterweight champion is having problems dealing with his stunning and brutal loss to Antonio Margarito.

It’s not the cuts, bumps and bruises from Margarito’s devastating KO victory. It’s the psyche of a suddenly not undefeated fighter whose “I am the man” attitude may have slipped into arrogance.

“Miguel seems to have cut himself off, isolated himself,” one longtime acquaintance told me this week. “He is not responding to old friends, to invitations for social events. He seems to want to be alone.

“I know him since he was a little kid, starting in boxing, and that’s not the Miguel Angel Cotto I know and love. It seems as though he’s gone into a mental slump.”

                  Ouch!
this is good news... cotto finally is focusing on his boxing and not letting social entanglements get in the way

All joking aside, hopefully he gets better soon.

That article sounds like a load of bollocks. And whoever said that ****, are just pissed cause cotto has more important people to hang around with.

That's just my take on it though/ general impression I get.
