I like Cotto, but if these things are true......he's done! I call this the Meldrick Taylor syndrom......if there was a fight that Cotto-Marg resembled, then it had to be Chavez-Taylor I.....that fight ruined Meldrick.
Yes. You could say that history has examples of fighters who's career was defined by a seemingly devastating loss. It shall be interesting to see if Cotto's career goes the Meldrick Taylor way or the Joe Louis way.

It sure would be ****ty, the mental strain I could imagine is unbearable for the guy. He seemed so happy after the fight at those parties with all his friends, hopefully he gets it back together and can recover. Mentally, he seems like one of the most disciplined guys out in the sport right now. Does anyone have a direct link to the article?

I wonder how close a friend this guy is who contributed to the story. A real friend wouldn't put his friend's business out there with the media. There is possibly a hidden agenda not newsworthy enough to delve into.

I was pleasantly surprised with Cotto fans on here, the loss seems to have strengthened the support he had, I think this has something to do with Miguel himself, people see how he acts outside the ring and liken towards him
With most Fighters you expect them to lose the fans belief, but noticeable Cotto fans on here seem to still believe he is a future champ
              God bless these people.

Yeah you gotta hold the support on here, funny a lot of people made threads on Cotto fans not being here after the fight, yet we were.

I have a hard time believing what I read since I saw Cotto in interviews, they made showed in the press him being in the Coors Light Escapade, but maybe just maybe the loss just hit him and he got focused and started back in the gym again.

Maybe he has indeed isolated himself in training. Hagler used to do it as well; no friends and no women, just a complete lockdown in the gym. Not to stray off topic but Hagler was a ****ing monster
