Cotto knows better than any of us what happened to him that night. He wants this fight and he is going to be ready for Marg.

...The only thing different he could do is more body shots to slow him down but, that's going to be soo hard against Marg...

That's been his problem for years, he doesn't tie up when he's in trouble....

What I like about his defense is that he can catch punches on the gloves and turn around and hit you with the same hand. That, and he varies the cross arm defense which is very effective for uppercuts.

I'm going to let everyone here in on a little secret: Margarito doesn't counter-punch....

I'll have to backtrack Marg on this.

If you watch the Cotto-Margarito fight again, Cotto never fought like that before. That simply wasn't his fight. He's not a pure boxer and he isn't a jab and move guy. Why he thought that'd work is beyond me. The rematch isn't physical, but tactical and mental. If Cotto can exercise the right game plan and there aren't any lingering effects from the first fight mentally, he can put himself in the right position to win. But when you're fighting a guy like Margarito, everything is hard.

If you back-track and watch Cotto's fights from his olympic days,
you might chisel your opinion on this.
Cotto has shifted his style over the years, and taps into his library to adapt to his opponents. If you watch him ONLY from his Paulie fight, you might think he's a bit one dimensional, and fights majority of his fights coming forward, but if you back up and look at his career as WHOLE, you'd see it differently.
Not a pure boxer? If you mean Cotto doesn't limit himself to boxing, then I agree, but if you mean he's not capable of winning at boxing...I DISAGREE!
His most recent notable one was when he switched styles in the ring with Shane and beat him at his own boxing game.
