Cotto will get knocked out again only much earlier this time. Margarito by TKO within 6.

Maybe he lacked the confidence to defend himself inside so he used his legs much more than normal. I dunno.

Cotto is capable of pulling out a win, he just needs to fight the right fight. Nobody here can say for certain that Cotto will always lose to Margarito after watching the first 7-8 rounds of that fight. If he can fight that well for that long he can make some adjustments to be more effective over a longer distance. Miguel needs to tweak some aspects of his game, but that's what a good pro does.

I'll definitely be looking forward to the rematch. We all know it will be a good fight at least.
That's been his problem for years, he doesn't tie up when he's in trouble. Look at the Torres and Corley fights, in both fights he opted to use his legs and when you're hurt and run, you're going backwards in straight lines and getting hit by straight punches.

What I like about his defense is that he can catch punches on the gloves and turn around and hit you with the same hand. That, and he varies the cross arm defense which is very effective for uppercuts.

I'm going to let everyone here in on a little secret: Margarito doesn't counter-punch. That's the reason he lost to Williams, the reason he lost to Santos and the reason he was getting hit so much against Clottey. Margarito's punches come from a long arc and if you throw straight punches at him you will almost always beat him to the punch. When opponents throw at him, he goes completely defensive, then picks up the attack right after you try to rest. Going and attacking him isn't going to be the end of the world, as long as you don't shoot your load.

So they can make as much money of off Cotto before he gets exposed again. Then they wont make **** off of him.

I bet Cotto fights Collazo or some bull**** feather fisted fighter.

This is how it has been his whole career. Fight some who had a punch, got rocked, then fight feather dusters. Its what Cotto does.
yea and look at marg. after he loses he goes fights a golden johnson shut the **** u u ignorant piece of dog ****.

I really think PRicans and Mexicans shouldn't be posting in threads like this.

The Torres fight was just brutal. He ate some huge punches and proceeded to do exactly what you said he did. He doesn't understand that it's better to tie up or take a knee (it came too late in the Margarito fight) when he's hurt. He tries to stay up and backpedal and it further leads to him putting himself in harms way. He took a lot of unnecessary shots in both the Torres and Margarito fights.

Good point about attacking Margarito. Even Cintron would get off in spots with no return fire from Margarito. Cintron failed when he saw that his otherwise devastating punches had no effect on Tony, then he just got discouraged. Again he has no inside defense to speak of either.

I think we all know that it was Cotto's fight to win or lose. Margarito is going to do what he always does, but Cotto just wasn't able to deal with it for 12 rounds. It'll be interesting to see if he has the dedication and mental makeup necessary to make positive changes in his game plan.

If you watch the Cotto-Margarito fight again, Cotto never fought like that before. That simply wasn't his fight. He's not a pure boxer and he isn't a jab and move guy. Why he thought that'd work is beyond me. The rematch isn't physical, but tactical and mental. If Cotto can exercise the right game plan and there aren't any lingering effects from the first fight mentally, he can put himself in the right position to win. But when you're fighting a guy like Margarito, everything is hard.

tony wins faster this time, cotto's punches do nothing to tony and tony's even if he lands just 5,6 punches a round,he will break him down with those little by little,i doubt cotto will sign for rematch,he will get out of it somehow,he knows well he can't beat tony
