Carl Froch...Most avoided Fighter?? or Overhyped british prospect??

I personally think he is avoided....people see him as dangerous and strong....i think given the chance he would become world champ however i wish he would get on with it rather than talking about Joe Calzaghe all the time he seems to think people will notice him if he talks about knocking Calzaghe out!....whats everyone thoughs??

I agree that people see Froch as dangerous and strong, and he is being avoided, Jermain Taylor has just literally ducked him. As to whether he's overhyped or not, we'll never know until someone doesn't avoid him. Too bad for him if that person turns out to be Mikkel Kessler!

He's a high risk/low reward fighter at the moment.

I don't think that Calzaghe and Taylor look at Froch and see someone that they are afraid of, I just think that they realise that beating him will not get those much money or praise compared to what they would get for fighting someone else.

It's possible that he'll turn out to be an elite, but at the moment he does seem to have several flaws, and if I would pick Taylor, Calzaghe, Kessler etc. to beat him.

I don't think he deserves too much criticism for his recent selection of opponents, because Inkin pulled out twice, and Taylor decided on a fight with Lacy.

another overhyped british prospect, you don't get any respect fighting in england alone.

          He's been avoided.

Too bad, because he's not been active enough in his prime years (last three years or so).

I hope the fight with Pascal is soon signed and made official. It seems to be talking a long time.

Is it possible to be both? I think he's avoided and overhyped. No 'name' will fight him because he has no draw on TV. He's gonna end up being gifted a title because none of the mandatories will face him.

Froch has been avoided, Jermain taylor being a good example. We won't know if he is being overhyped till we see how he performs against his first real test.

I watched a video of Froch vs Westerman a guy who was 15-5. Froch lost the first 6 rounds. Before landing a lucky shot and winning a stoppage.

I think he has a chance at beating other unproven SMW's such as Inkin. And possibly Miranda.

But Kessler, Bute, Andrade, Bika, Manfredo, Jermain Taylor. All these guys beat him.

I think he might just sneak into the top 10 at SMW.

But hes definetely overhyped. With no real defence, or technique, hes a walking title. And i think he will beat Pascal, who is another over rated, over hyped fighter. But then a top 10 opponent will take his title.

And what is your top 10 SMW then?

I think that froch would beat Andrade, Bika, Manfredo and Jermain Taylor easily. Froch has more power than pavlik but he will need to tighten up that defence even though he looks as if he's got a good chin. There is no doubt that Froch is being ducked by alot of fighters out there. now that joe has left the division I would rate him about 2 or three behind kessler and pavlik if he moves up( what a fight that would be froch v's pavlik world war 3).
