It takes a lot more than two boxers to make a fight. Somebody has to put up the money, and that's just the first step. Some fans seem to think this is like a school yard or a prison.

No, the ducking bull**** on this site is getting ridiculous. I propose we start banning people who proclaim that certain fighters are ducking or being ducked.

Depends on who your talking about. For example Carl called out Calzaghe and we all know Calzaghe ain't gonna take the fight...reason being that Carl is a NOBODY. This we all can understand. Ducking would be not wanting to unify at WW and ignoring the highest payday in your career becuz of it.

Definitely NO, It takes a special reason to accuse a fighter of ducking someone.

What would you consider ducking? Have any names?

I second that. There are legit ducks that have happened but boxing forums are terrible for people making staggering claims of ducking. On a different forum someone said after the Castillo fight that Hatton was ducking Vernon Forrest. Forget that it was two weight classes north and heavier that Hatton had ever been at, Forrest had never even mentioned Hatton.

To be a legit duck these are the rules:

                a. The ducker needs to have something the duckee wants (title / status etc)
                b. The duckee must be in a position in which they have a reasonable expectation of attaining whatever the ducker has
                c. The ducker and the duckee must have an open schedule. It's no good one fighter accusing another of ducking him after he has just signed to fight someone else.
                d. There must be a reasonable reward for both fighters. It has to be worth their while.

Any ducking accusations go out of the window if the "ducker" for example moves up in weight to fight for a title there, or makes a move to unify, or drops a local title to fight for a world title etc.

Like when Margarito was being accused of ducking Williams just days after the biggest win of his career.
