I used to like Haye, in fact I used to defend him in another forum last year (BoxRec's "Current Scene").
But his mouthing off and calling Wlad down every week has changed my opinion. Also his fans tend to hate my favorite fighters, Wlad and Joe.Comment

I have been wondering the same thing. What are he's plans? He cried out making a lot of noise like some giant dinosaur. So far we haven't even seen a petite dinasar-egg......On March 8, David Haye said he was moving up to heavyweight. He said he'll fight a "top ten" heavyweight. It's now September, and Haye still doesn't have an opponent.
What's he waiting for?
I have a theory on Haye. He wants to fight old, shot Oleg Maskaev, who turns 40 in six months time. So he has to wait for Maskaev to have his fight with Robert Hawkins on Saturday.
Look for an announcement next week that Haye will fight Maskaev. And if he can't get Maskaev, he'll try for another shot fighter, Hasbeen Rahman.
Haye is ignoring Barrett's requests to fight, he's not shot enough. Neither is Tony Thomson, who also wants the fight.
And he wouldn't take a chance against a prime top heavyweight like Eddie Chambers, who's been calling him out.
No, Haye will fight an older, shot opponent because HE"S NOT THE REAL DEAL AND HE KNOWS IT. HE JUST WANTS TO CASH IN AGAINST WLAD NEXT YEAR.
Why pull the race- card?

There's no rush if he is fighting in November.
I'm pretty sure his next opponent will be announced in time, doesn't really matter whether he is fighting a real top heavyweight or not (well, as long as it's not another Bonin), atleast we get a look of him as a heavyweight.
Haye can talk all the trash he wants, I'm sure that Wladimir doesn't mind. Anything to create interest in a potential clash between the two, Povetkin did the same.Comment

In an interview with Setanta today, Haye said his opponent will likely be either Rahman or Toney.
Here's the article from another site:
" David Haye has been talking again. Speaking exclusively with Setanta Sports, who will be showing his next fight live, "The Hayemaker" has said he will be "one of the best conditioned heavyweights you'll have ever seen" when he gets in the ring in November. Haye also spoke about how he feels he will do against two of the current favourites to be meeting him on November 15th - James Toney and Hasim Rahman.."
"According to Setanta, fighters Valdimir Virches, Monte Barrett, Juan Carlos Gomez, Oleg Maskaev, Alexander Dimitrenko, Serguei Lyakhovich and Chris Arreola have been ruled out for one reason or another, and this leaves Rahman and Toney. Rahman is the frontrunner, but Haye spoke about how he'd do against both "Rock" and "Lights Out."
"I think I'd knock him [Rahman] out," Haye said. "Just like the rest of the heavyweight division. Over twelve rounds, sooner or later they're going to get knocked out. They might have good spells. They might be able to take the initial onslaught, but sooner or later they'll get broken down and knocked out."
"Haye then discussed James Toney, a fighter he reportedly has respect for."
"The only problem with James Toney, is, I've looked at his record on BoxRec and he's only won one of his last six fights," Haye said. "He got disqualified for [taking] steroids, he drew with Hasim Rahman and lost to Samuel Peter twice. [The last fight] was a no-decision, I thought he lost the first two rounds then he won the third, then Rahman got cut. It would be an interesting fight. He's [Toney] deceiving. He fights a lot better than he looks. If you look at him, you think he's just a pumped-up fat middleweight, but he's got a lot of skills. I definitely think I'd stop him late or win a big decision on points."
"Haye clearly rates Toney over Rahman, yet it does seem the 35-year-old Rahman will be getting the fight. He's been the favourite to land the match for some time now, and, as Haye said, he would be a lot easier to KO than would Toney. Setanta sports conducted a poll, and when the votes were in Toney was the winner when it comes to who the fans want to see Haye fight in November. Who knows, maybe "Lights Out" will get the call after all. I'm sure James would jump at the chance."
"The word is, the official announcement for Haye's next fight/opponent will take place in mid-September. It's been a long time coming!" "Comment

Klitschko's willingness to grant Haye a title shot in 2009 has given Haye little or no incentive to fight someone credible. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Haye skipped his November date to just go into the Klitschko fight...Comment
