What is David Haye waiting for?

He's just too out of shape. Haye would have too much speed and power for him. A few years ago Toney would have him no problem but now he is on the wrong side of 40 and his weight problems are just too much to overcome I think.Comment

You do realize that no matter who Haye faces, that they already will probably be ex sam peter or Wlad klitchsko victims?
Personally, I'd love to see him against Ibragimov. What better way of making a statement then KOing or atleast be exciting with a guy Wlad failed to do.Comment

Haye will never fight Sultan Ibragimov....Ibragimov is too big of a risk for Haye...Haye wants to take the easy route to a big payday against Wlad...He is only interested in fighting old, shot fighters. You do realize that no matter who Haye faces, that they already will probably be ex sam peter or Wlad klitchsko victims?

Sultan got dropped by Ray Austin so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Haye could get him.
All reports of people who have sparred with Haye say he hits like a truck.Comment

I wouldnt say he would be KOed. I def would say he would not go that route, not a good matchup stylistically for any HW right now, let alone one who is really trying to jump start his new career and be in big fights relatively quick in the division.
That being said I'd prolly take Sultan by decision
He will be smart, take a named fighter with little resistance, and move forward to a bigger one with a lil more before a showdown with Wlad. Also remember that he's trying to make a new steppin stone for himself. So in his case I dont neccisarily blame him for staying away from a huge threat in his first couple of fights before taking on someone like Wlad. He needs to win, and look good doing so. The balls in his court, now he just needs to prove to everyone what hes made of.Comment

The thing about Sultan is that he can be electric. Watch his fights against Javier Mora and parts of the Austin fight.I wouldnt say he would be KOed. I wish I could see that Sultan more instead of the boxer who fought Holy and Wlad.Comment

Sultan came into the Austin fight out of shape and overweight at 233 lbs...He usually fights 220 lbs or less.
Sultan is faster than Haye, has a good chin, he's improved his defence bigtime and he hits hard....The sneaky and slick Ibragimov would land his fast hard straight lefts and KO the weak chinned Haye.Last edited by WLAD OWNS; 09-02-2008, 10:18 PM.Comment

I would not mind seeing those two go to war in a short thrilling fight.Sultan cam into the Austin fight out of shape and overweight at 233 lbs...He usually fights 220 lbs or less.

Southpaw with good pop against someone with a stinging right.
Would enjoy it while is lasted for sure.Comment
