I don't see how Joe Calzaghe could be a top 50 all time fighter. I don't see how Floyd Mayweather could be, either. I think Bernard Hopkins has a legitimate claim to cracking that list, however. Maybe the only fighter in the last five years who does (of all the fighters who have done anything meaningful with their careers in those 5 years).

why are they so bitter when it comes to European fighters?
if you're referring to this site than thats cuz of the euro posters that drive ppl into hating any euro fighter. they overrate their fighters and underrate the american fighters and hate on them with a passion.

"Euro bum" is just hate created by the americans as a result of tones of disrespectful posts by euro posters.

btw the term "Yank bum" is far more used on this site than "Euro Bum".

Hopkins has a similar career to Calzaghe except one is undefeated and the other isn't.

If Hopkins does, then Calzaghe certainly does, their careers are nigh on identical. I don't think either makes anything like that high though, I'm no history expert but there's a whole lot of very good boxers in the past they have to compete with. mayweather has a much better case than either, better skills, better resume.

Shame really. You can probably place some blame with HBO for refusing to build new stars
i have to agree with the part in bold nothing against Americans but they really do have a tendency not to embrace things outside of America

In fact, while calzaghe has won every fight, Hopkins has failed to win on no less than seven occasions!

Football,I agree but Music? Leona Lewis is all over the radio and when the best bands like Queen and Zeplin were hot, they were very big in the USA.We enjoy any kind of music regardless of where it comes from.

The draw with Mercado, he was robbed. The 2 Taylor fights are controversial ( I thought Taylor won the first but Hop deserved the 2nd if i remember rightly), the Calzaghe fight was also very close and he was past prime.

His first loss I have not seen, but do not hold against him. Roy Jones is the only person to have won without a doubt in peoples minds.
