Why do American Fans Refuse to Accept A European Fighter can be great?

The Euro bum myth was created by Non-Americans.They create ALTs and spew played out satire that attempts to mimic the American thought process.Anyone who sees a boxer as a product of a nation instead of a fighter who developed with his/her dedication and willpower is not a true fan of the sport.I am sure there are some Americans that try to discredit a fighter based on his location but by taking them seriously you lower yourself to their standards.Any true fan of the sport can see past color, place of birth and even sexual preferance{JMM}.Comment

ALT, this is mostly nonsense. Large numbers of American fans have a very hard time accepting that a non-American/ American based fighter can be great. Even a great many very knowledgeable posters here will not extend Calzaghe the same credit they extend even to Pavlik, let alone the very similarly careered Hopkins. Nothing wrong with that, I will never rate Hopkins as highly as I rate Calzaghe, but lets not pretend that the boxing fan in general is an angel. Throw in the huge numbers of noobish hate-mongers and its ridiculous to suggest that the Euro-bum thing is a myth, it is probably believed by nearly every casual fan of boxing in America and a lot of the hardcore ones too!The Euro bum myth was created by Non-Americans.They create ALTs and spew played out satire that attempts to mimic the American thought process.Anyone who sees a boxer as a product of a nation instead of a fighter who developed with his/her dedication and willpower is not a true fan of the sport.I am sure there are some Americans that try to discredit a fighter based on his location but by taking them seriously you lower yourself to their standards.Any true fan of the sport can see past color, place of birth and even sexual preferance{JMM}.Comment

The first part was a joke but the rest was serious.I rate all fighters the same regardless of where they come from.I am not part of that group.Calzaghe in my opinion is an all time great in the super middleweight division and top 40 all time.ALT, this is mostly nonsense. In the past I have said Pavlik would lose to Calzaghe and that Pavlik would lose to Hopkins,or Kessler.I like undefeated fighters and if he can keep his O,IMO he should be top 40 all time.Comment
