Could Floyd have beaten a prime Kostya Tszyu at 140lbs?

Floyd gets this one.Tszyu was a strong boxer puncher but I think you need a pressuring style like J.L. Castillo to have a chance.A prime Chavez would of completed what Castillo almost did against Mayweather.

Worst post of this thread and that's impressive.

I wouldnt say too scared, but rather smart decision. why would he take that sledge hammer right hand if he can avoid it? he pott shotted 10ko baldomir ...
Even if not (which I dont agree with), neither did Hatton. My point is that's how you do it. both fights show the same problem with Zoo.

Mayweather started potshotting only in the 2nd half of the Baldomir fight. And the reason was one or two of the following:
        1) hands problems,
        2) having discovered the impossibility of hurting Baldomir

(both induced by his thick skull)

Also, I will repeat. Straight right hand is the punch which does worst against that defense. A very small movement of your body can lead to a notable imbalance in your opponent. PBF can beat Zoo on the outside.

But a just as smart decision for Mayweather would be closing the range, for which he would have some options (counter Zoo's right with a right then step in and grab him OR tuck his head in between his gloves step forward and slightly to his left...), and then stay there, use short punches at midrange or just meet zoo's foul for foul on the inside. PBF BEATS Zoo on the inside.

Before the Hatton fight I wasnt sure PBF could do this type of fight that well, and I was giving Zoo much better odds for this one, given his guile. After seeing that inside clinic I would not put a cent on Zoo in this fight. He'd be

This absolutely depends on WHEN they fight.

JC is much better fighter than JLC. No IFs and BUTs. Put JC in Castillo's place that night. JC gets a W.

However, JLC is a bigger man. He had a 10lbs advantage on Floyd in both fights (149 to 139 or something like that).

Now take a Floyd coming in at 150, and put him against any version of JC, sounds like a whole different fight to me. One in which PBF gets a W.

Or take their 130 versions, JC was not what he was later in the Rosario and Camacho fights. Floyd was already a wonder and big at the weight.

But I agree with you, JC has a much better style to beat PBF! great inside fighting ability. All time great chin (at 35-40), excellent timing. No chance of getting discouraged (in his youth at least), perfect at cutting off the ring...

2 BAD WE NEVER SAW IT...Just like we didn't see him fight Freitas or Casamayor at 35 and again at 147 vs the best in Cotto,Margarito and Williams. PBF claims to be an ATG but he didn't clean out one division. Leaving his legacy in limbo.

                      130. next please.

Popo and Casa were showtime and Popo didnt want anything from Mayweather.

Casa. good fight, would have loved to see it. At 130 prime Casa could have given trouble to a young Mayweather.
