Pavlik-Kessler is THE fight in the middleweights I want to see. Tremendous matchup. I slightly favour Kessler though - a little bigger and better in most departments.

I am a fan of his and still don't see him winning against Kessler,Calzaghe or Abraham. He most likely won't make it out of the Hopkins fight with a win.
For all the fans that overate Pavlik you have the same amount overating Kessler. It works both ways.

Pavlik has been tested even harder that. the problem with Joe and what he will have to correct if he was to fight Kelly is his wide looping punches and the fact that he too brave for his own good. He is used to going to war with his opponents and he also haven't been pressured for every minute of every round and Kelly would bring both if this to the table. He throws straight accurate pin point shots and would walk through Joe's punches because i have mentioned, he doesn't have anything to keep him off. Just like Cotto/Margarito, only difference would be Joe wouldn't build up that much of an early lead and I'm not picturing him being stopped, just broken down to the point where his foot speed is no longer in use but i can see him making it to the final bell. Kessler is not Pavlik. Also another thing i should mention is that Calzaghe has had a speed advantage over all of his opponents but of course there are ways around that, especially in this case.

Sorry Sweet, Kelly is one of my favourite fighters and unlike a lot of his fans, you seem to have your head screwed on right, but Kelly doesn't have a hope against Calzaghe. The only way he wins is if Calzaghe gets old overnight (and it does happen), but otherwise Calzaghe wins a fairly wide UD. Pavlik's style is absolutely perfect for Calzaghe; a straight-punching, pressure fighter with fairly predictable combinations. Calzaghe loves fighters to come forward against him so he can use his counter punching abilities and his hand speed to overwhelm. Power won't win you a fight against Calzaghe and I'm not sure Kelly can adapt his style enough to win.

Both Kelly Pavlik and Mikkel Kessler are talented, exciting world-class fighters.

I think Pavlik would whoop Calzaghe & beat Kessler. Too bad we will never see those fights.
