jmm was not a mandatory that long for naseem. at least i don't think. even if he was doesn't mean naseem was afraid of him.

naseem fought every title holder there was. jmm has no one to blame but himself. if he beat freddie who's to say he doesn't get his shot at hamed?
i am the only one i know who is picking casa to win....

      was lennox ducking tua?

      tua was mandatory for years.

oh wait lennox fought him. tua just had to wait his chance while lennox settled the bigger money fights first.

such is the price of boxing business.

        people have short memories.

they remember how manny blew out david and how jmm was competitive with manny.

they also remember how joel looked old against katsidis.

it's 50/50 to me. what are the odds? i like jmm to win it but if joel is getting some odds i might take joel.

          remember naseem?

naseem beat every single beltholder in the division.

they would strip naseem or even one time stripped his opponent of his belt right before the fight with hamed.
ok! I was wondering why the straps were missin' in some of his fights! thx!

              he came in at 260.

i don't know if he could beat a lewis if he was 215-220 but he would've done better.

lewis is too good for tua.

the quality of opposition is higher on b-hops side. i mean, he faced roy jones and was very competitive with him at a time when roy was undefeated and just shy of his prime. no other fighter in the world could have been more competitive with him at that stage imo. b-hop destroyed undefeated #2 pound for pound fighter, tito trinidad. he faced undefeated prospects glen johnson and joe lipsey and some other dangerous fighters. he completely unified the division (all 4 belts), something that has never been achieved before or since. he faced ALL of his mandatories and ALL of the top condenders, not just "some." yes, he defeated the past champions that he faced, but he also beat the other CURRENT champions and took their straps... Many say that B-hop seriously affected jermain taylors fighting style and psyche in their two fights, which is kinda evident in jt's horrible middleweight reign. regardless if you believe that or not, b-hop has definately ruined MANY fighters.

in their title reigns, joe fought less spectacular competition than b-hop banking off the chris eubank fight for name recommendation for years. joe was in a division where some big fights loomed, but he did not make any effort to cross the atlantic to get these fights. recently, warren the weasel planted this absurd seed that roy ducked joe, but it was indeed joe who said he wanted no part in fighting superman at that unstoppable period of his career. he's said it in interviews and its well-documented. he also said that it wasn't until the first tarver fight that roy looked human... now he wants to face him to seal his legacy?!?

prior to lacy, joe only met up with one undefeated "prospect." he did not hand him a devestating, career-ending/altering beating as a prime-hopkins would, but nevertheless, beat him convingly. this was not a glen johnson-caliber fighter though. this was a guy who never left germany and had no interest in truly testing where he stood on a world-wide stage.

joe's biggest wins were against lacy, who was over-hyped and had not been tested, and kessler, who built has fame off "being ducked" by calzaghe. He was a legitimate threat though, and the best fighter joe had faced at that stage, so I won't belittle that performance. i though joe handled him very well and showed how adaptable he can be, but then again Kessler is no B-Hop.

i don't want to criticize joe to harshly here. i still consider his accomplishments great and he is world class, no doubt about it. i just feel that b-hops resume is much more impressive though...
