It was just a rumor that Hopkins was a veggieterian so he could make middleweight. He wasn't according to him. Hopkins pretty much just worked out all the time so he was able to make Middleweight pretty easy.

He killed himself to make 156 for De La Hoya though. I remember those weigh in pics. My god he looked awful if I remember that correctly.

Hopkins' resume is similar to Calzaghe's IMO, both solid but nothing spectacular, he did beat some top contenders and past champions.

Calzaghe just started to fight the better fighters but like Pacquiao he's geting to them while they are old, but unlike Hopkins hes picking on bigger fighters but older.

Hopkins is picking on old fighters? Dude is 43, who is he picking on? And which one isn't picking on big fighters? Tarver and Calzaghe fought at higher weight classes than BHop for most of their careers. Pacquiao moved up to fight Barrera (who didn't seem so out of prime to me), and again for Morales (who put on one of his top 3 performances for their 1st encounter), and yet again to move up to lightweight. Whatchu talkin bout willis?

so tito is out of the question to me.
but i always wanted to see a rematch.
i mean he fought robert allen three times.

you gotta think he tried to milk that win for all its worth.
Robert Allen was the mandatory each time.

No because the first fight Allen was his mandatory fight which ended in a No Contest and they had to reschedule (Mills lane incident). After he beat him, 5 years later Allen worked his way back up to the #1 spot and once again earned his right to be his mandatory. I'm sure hopkins was after bigger names at the time too

one of the major differences imo is that Calzaghe defended ONE belt for like 10 years, whereas bhop unified the division as soon as he could and defended all the belts.
